Getting used to wearing flat shoes, I always wear heels but would like to try flats, any advice?

Don't, stay on your heels. You have become used to them and they are pretty and feminine.

Getting used to wearing flat shoes, I always wear heels but would like to try flats, any advice?
The thing about most flats (unless if they're really really good quality and really expensive) is that most of them lack the padding and cushioning. Especially ballet flats. The soles of high heels would normally have molding or an arch to support your feet.

So when you buy a pair, make sure there's enough cushioning or you can buy a separate cushioning pad (like Dr. Scholls? I haven't tried them myself). Or by the end of the day, your heels will be sore.

Have fun!!
Reply:u should give me advice on how 2 wear heels i am thinking u should wear alot of sandels

run in ur heels and make ur feet hurt and then u will want to wear sandels or sneakers
Reply:try wearing lower heels every time untill the shoes you wear get flat
Reply:Don't be surprised if your calf muscles hurt when you switch. It's probably a good idea to work into it gradually if you want to move completely away from heels.

Laney is right - the Dr. Scholls gel insoles are really nice!

I'm unsure about these shoes i like the heels but not the front what do u think ?
Too much fashion just follows trends, which can be a bit boring. These will definitely make you stand out and add a bit of individual style; always refreshing.

To me they are a fusion between conservative and sexy styles. ie they are still conservative enough to wear to work, albeit with a little twist, yet out there enough to wear with a sexy short dress.

You would definitely need to jazz the front up a bit so get a good pedicure, I'd suggest french polish, go and try them on with a nice skirt/dress and see how they look.

Don't know whether I would be willing to pay the $550 tag though

Reply:I like the front, not the heel. I hate the heel.
Reply:Hideous
Reply:They aren't my taste, however if you like them, go for it!
Reply:they are quite nice if you like that sort of thing
Reply:welll i'm the opposite of you on this one: i think the heel is really awkwardly shaped but the front is very classic. all in all, i think it's too much of a mixing of genres.

What's the best practical way to walk when you're wearing shoes with 2-3 inches heels?

I'm not much of a high heel person. I'd choose flats over heels, most of the time. Everytime I wear my boots, my feet would hurt so much.

What's the best practical way to walk when you're wearing shoes with 2-3 inches heels?
well for me when i buy shoes with a high heel i look for some with a thick heal for me the thicker the heel the easier it is to walk in them another thing is that not to get shoes that are too heavy if the shoes are too heavy for u then ur legs and feet will start to hurt and then ur money u spent on the boots will go to waste cause u wont want to wear them anymore i hope this helps some
Reply:heels are something u just have to get used to. start with 2 inch then work ur way up............
Reply:Take small steps and pratice walking in heels (get a pair for around the house) Dont worry, it comes with practice
Reply:It will throw your pelvis out and your chest out and your butt out in the other direction and then you will swing your hips more and your butt will bounce more and so will your breasts. Slow it down. Swing your shin bone forward and go with the flow. Don't try to fight it. It's a very sexy way of walking. You will get more confidence and soon will learn to dance and run in them. Going down stairs is very difficult so be very careful there. Good luck.
Reply:there is no pratical way, just hope that you don't fall. I you have problems wearing them, it may not be meant for you to wear them, just a suggestion

As for your question - Andy C, if you are after medically built up check with your local hospital. If you are after wedges and high shoes you may be better having a day of calling around the local shoe shops. To find them I would suggest you use www.upmystreet.com. Where you can put in your postcode and request a specific type of business to search for, in this case 'shoe stores' or 'mens shoe stores' etc and see what turns up. I wish you luck.

Why do I feel pins and needles in my heels one day after my feet were in wet shoes for 10 hours?

My heels are uncomfortable after they were trapped in wet shoes for my shift at work. They became pruned just like when finger tips are in water for long periods. What is causing the pain the day after, and how soon can I expect it to fade?

Why do I feel pins and needles in my heels one day after my feet were in wet shoes for 10 hours?
It should fade in a while, depending on the case anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so. Sometimes, the contraction (pruning) of the skin pinches nerves or irritates them. It also lowers circulation. lack of circulation causes pain too.

please only serious answers don't just put "i don't know" or "damnnnn" because that's really not answering her Question or helping thank you

Girls Heels Question [ guys don't answer ]?
Try looking on-line. Most retail stores don't like to stock those sizes because it is rare that people would buy them. And, of course, when they do, some one else buys them first.

My boyfriend is 6'6" and wears size 15 shoes. Kinda the same problem so I know how you feel. :)

Ballet style shoes with super high heels, do you like them?
Those are actually fetish/fantasy shoes. They are impossible to walk in and they are meant to be worn by a submissive partner who then needs to be led around because she or he is unable to walk without assistance. They aren't for street wear or fashion wear, or anywear, only for fetish and fantasy games.

It is very admirable if a woman can learn to wear them gracefully. It shows how committed she is to being truly feminine and beautiful.

A new co-worker joins your team. She wears 3 inch heels and is very smart. Do you change your shoes and style?

The culture in your small team at the office is very relaxed. You usually wear black pants a simple top and flat pumps. The new girl is pleasant and you make friends with her, but she always wears a skirt suit, pressed blouse and 3 inch heels. She is about the same height as you in bare feet, 5ft 5", but her heels give her a good edge in height. You both do a great job but one of you is bound to get the team leader's promotion next year.

Do you change your dress mode? Match her heels or go higher with 4 inchers? Do you power dress in a skirt or pant suit or accesorize more? Or would it not affect your choice of clothes and shoes in the slightest? You decide!

A new co-worker joins your team. She wears 3 inch heels and is very smart. Do you change your shoes and style?
Interesting quesion Tammi, normally I wouldn't let it affect me at all what others are wearing but if you are both going for a promotion to team leader you would have to ask just who is going to hand this promotion out? Is it a man who may be impressed by a nicely dressed lady each day or is it a lady who may not care to constantly see some other lady come in looking nicer than she dresses? If you feel that the person giving out the promotion is going to be at least partially persuaded by what each of you are wearing then you may have to step it up a bit. Dress to impress and wear the 4" heels.

If the person who is going to promote one of you goes strictly by the job performance and not how your dressed then you don't have to worry about how your dressed. Just go in each day and do the best job you possibly can.

I hope I didn't confuse you with all of this.

Good luck

Reply:try a pair of 3 inch heels sometime , you may or may not like it! Report It

Reply:just be yourself
Reply:You shouldn't change anything about yourself. You are a one of a kind person no matter what traits she has you have something she doesn't. If you are working in the same place you are both equally qualified to work there. So her being smart should not affect what you do. Just be sure that you don't let her distract you from doing good work same as you always have. If she gets a promotion based on the way she dresses then it is for the wrong reasons and you probably don't want to be the one getting it. She dresses that way to make people feel the way you do. She is trying to be intimidating. Don't let her affect you in any way. She probably feels the same about you. Never let something that someone else does affect your personal style and/or feelings.
Reply:No, she is just a showoff the new person. You wear what you are comfortable wearing to work. If she gets a promotion before you do, then it is time to leave the company.
Reply:No, I would not wear 3" heals just because SHE wears them and is pleasant and now your friend.

I would be confident in who I am, and maby take a good look in the mirror myself to see where I could improve with out copying the new high heal girl.
Reply:be yourself not a lemming
Reply:Duh! Of course you change. This is war. You needed a wardrobe upgrade anyway. High heels are more professional, those flats are going to keep you stuck down in the cubicles you're whole career.

You need to go higher, 4's on a regular basis and some 5's for important meetings. Pantyhose or stockings, fitted suits with knee length skirts, silk blouses, classy jewelry, new hairdo and make sure you wear make up too, no more of that 'natural look'

You want that promotion, don't you?
Reply:Be yourself. Focus on your work...hopefully, that will get you the promotion.

How do you keep slingback shoes from slipping off heels?

I struggle with these shoes all day and they sometimes fall off while I am walking! But they look so good.

How do you keep slingback shoes from slipping off heels?
are the shoes too big? Can you adjust the sling back? Also you can try those little bandages the circles and put those on your feet and then they may stay. Also sometimes you should not put lotion in the area of your foot where you need them to stay. Then it will be a little rough and it wont slide. Put lotion all over just not in the sling back area.
Reply:Make sure to get the slingback up and over the heelcurve, though the best way is to learn to properly walk in them. Slingbacks require you to walk with your feet closer to the ground. Move your ankles less and your legs more with the foot more or less parralel with the ground.

High heels and sizing?

Im going to be honest I am a tennis shoe/sneaker type of girl. Im trying to branch out and get more shoes in my collection, I guess. But when I try on heels in my size the shoe they start to hurt after awhile. Do I need to buy larger sizes? If so how much bigger? I am really at a loss on this.

High heels and sizing?
depends on what your feet are like.

mine are wide so if i wear narrow shoes like stilettos i go for a size bigger

when you wear heels your foot slowly moves towards the front of the shoe more and more as you walk so it feels like they are tight. there is also more pressure on your feet so they swell through the day as you wear them. doesnt mean you need a bigger size though. if it fits you when you try it on then you dont need a bigger size
Reply:Usually I buy a 1/2 size to a size bigger in heels. I think your feet expand when they are up.
Reply:I actually go down a 1/2 size or even a whole size when I buy heels.

You really have a try them on and walk around the store to tell.

If I get them too big I flop around in them and the backs slip off while Im walking.
Reply:try getting your shoes in a bigger size if they're heels since heels tend to become narrow towards to the toes. You want enough room in your shoes to walk around comfortably. You could put small adhesive pads in your shoes to prevent your feet from slipping around if the shoes seem too big. these can be purchased from pretty much any shoe department.
Reply:One inch heels are ideal. Mules are comfortable. Some high heels are.
Reply:Always get a 1/2 size to 1 size bigger than you wear so your feet will be comfortable. For example stilleto boots I sometimes get a size bigger so they are comfortable.
Reply:I'm usually a size 9, but my feet are kind of wide, so I have to wear larger heels beacuse it seems like they're made for narrower feet. that could be your problem.

if youre gonna be wearing the shoes for a while, I'd make sure they're at least moderately comfortable.

start out with heels that have ankle support, or at least heel support.

Should I continue to make my wife wear high heels?

I have been with my wife for 1 year now %26amp; dated for about 10 years before. Throughout our relationship I have told her how I loved her in very high heels. I just love how she looks in them and especially love the comments I get on her appearance from both men and women. I have always picked out her shoes for her and of course always buy between 3” – 4” heel.

The problem is that after 1 year of marriage she is starting to complain about wearing them from time to time. She tells me she feels pressured to wear them everyday. But for many years before we were married she wore them without question. I feel that she was just trying to please me and now that she is married she can forget about the heels.

Our fights are always over heels. If I suggest a shoe for her to wear out, she will get mad over the heel high. But then only after a fight will she suggest that she would like a new pair of heels.

Should I continue to pressure her on wearing high heels?

Should I continue to make my wife wear high heels?
Have you ever tried wearing high heels...especially 4 inch heels? They are definitely not the most comfortable shoe. Instead of pressuring her, let her wear what she wants and she might just surprise you and start wearing the heels as a treat for you on special occassions...without you having to even ask! Nobody should have to wear high heels every day. Don't pressure her and see what happens.
Reply:no you should love her however SHE chooses to present herself... you sound shallow, i feel bad for her
Reply:You shouldn't pressure her into doing anything she doesn't want to, it will sour your relationship.
Reply:Let her wear what she wants for a while. Eventually she'll probably go back to wearing the heels b/c she loves you not b/c she's pressured.
Reply:yes
Reply:It's obvious that you haven't been married long.

Rule #1

Pick your battles carefully THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!

If you think that this is a problem now wait a few years this is not worth pissing your wife off over. She KNOWS you like them. She will where when she is comfortable doing so and to please you when she wants to. Not when it's constantly expected.

I would NOT continue to poressure your wife into wearing high heels, if she prefers something else. I would not make my lady do such a thing, because I love her, and care about how she feels about things.
Reply:I would back off a bit on that.
Reply:You're being extremely superficial, you know? You should be more concerned about the comfort of your wife and how she feels about this situation. She's not just eye candy for you to parade around...she's a human being...who probably has sore feet. Save the heels for special occasions. You really need to get your priorities in order.
Reply:You shouldn't have any say in what she wears - she can wear flats during the day and maybe heals for you at night. Heals as SO BAD for your feet. They cause bunions and hammer toes not to mention pressure on ankles and knees and hips... but the time your woman gets older he feet could be so nasty from the above you wont want her feet anywhere near you. These problems get worse with age so let her where what she wants to. You wear them for a day and see how that works for you.
Reply:Why do you have to put pressure on your wife to wear high heels. Do you feel embarrassed if she does not wear them. Or do you imagine without high heels she does not look as good. She should wear flat comfortable shoes during the day otherwise she will end up with alot of foot problems. It makes me think you are very impracticable and shallow. It should be up to your wife to wear high heels if she wants to.
Reply:Maybe you should just settle for her wearing the really high heels to bed. I would go insane if I wore them everyday but I do enjoy them when I'm trying to seduce someone.
Reply:let her wear what she wants. its up to her.
Reply:No, stop pressuring her. Let her wear what she wants.
Reply:I think you have a shoe fetish and need some therapy for it.

Your wife should be able to wear any shoes she wants to. Would you want her to tell you that you had to wear a red lace thong everyday for your underwear?

I hope she puts on a pair of sneakers and runs away from you.
Reply:stop pressuring her with the shoes, life is to short
Reply:Not unless you are willing to cope with all the complications of later life associated with high heels. ie. bad back, bunions, arthritis. Does she make you do anything you don't want to do? A marriage involves understanding. Understand that she wishes to wear lower heels once in a while and respect that. I am sure she will still wear the heels once in a while just to please you, but not if she is pressured.
Reply:Get real, man!!!!!!!

You're wife is in for a world of problems with her feet in later life, if she continues to wear high heels all the time.

Grow up! You choose your own shoes. Get off her case and let her choose her own.

How ridiculous to argue over something so senseless on your part.
Reply:Just suggest to her that she wear those heels for you on very "special occasions".......maybe she doesnt even have to be standing on her feet when she wears them ;-)

That way she still gets to wear them for you, and you still get to see her in them.
Reply:My first thought was to say this...

Why would you MAKE your wife do anything. Are you or partner or her controller?

Then once I read the rest of it I still stand by my initial thought. And add this...

She probably did just wear them all those years to please you. Which was her bad. If she really didn't like them she should have been herself and if you didn't love her for being herself then you are only loving the heels.

If you value your wife and not just the heels I would stop putting preasure on her to wear them. Even if she did really like wearing them they can physically wear on a woman's body. They may not be as comfortable now as they once were for her to wear.

I personally never could wear them. I liked how they looked but they hurt something aweful. I paid something like $50 for a pair once to please my bf (long time ago) He loved them but they ended up staying under the table the whole time we were dancing. And I never wore them again.

I can't imagine why someone would fight over something so trivial as high heels. If you truly value heels over your wife then I would suggest seeking therapy.
Reply:Get over your self. You are just trying to make her look better to make you feel better. She is not a trophy, she is ur wife. Love her for who she is and not what is on her feet.

PS that is a VERY weird thing to be opposed with ur wife's shoes.
Reply:Ok...as a woman, I can say that high heels ARE NOT COMFORTABLE! In fact, most of them are horrible. It's ok if you have a high heel fetish, but don't FIGHT about it! She probably didn't complain because she knew how much it meant to you to wear high heels, but after 11 YEARS of it, I'm thinking her feet are getting tired, and she's starting to get older.

Why don't you just ask her to wear them on special occasions, not just everyday? If you only ASK her to wear them occasionally, she may not have as big of a problem with it. If this is causing a big problem in your relationship though, I think you need to let the high heels go. That's not an excuse for a relationship to break up after 11 years.
Reply:THIS IS A GOOD ONE. JUST CHILL OUT SHE TIRED OF THEM.

Is there a specific type of shoe that isnt recommended for wearing through security?

I've heard there are some shoes like extra large heels that arent recommended because they will be screened extra. Is that true?

Is there a specific type of shoe that isnt recommended for wearing through security?
Everyone is required to remove all types of shoes and footwear prior to passing through the metal detector at the security checkpoint. All shoes are x-rayed as part of the standard security check. This includes everything from flip-flops to steel-toed work boots.

That said, you're best off with a shoe that's easy to slip on and off. You don't want to be re-lacing a knee high boot when you're trying to catch your flight!

I think your question is specifically referring to the fact that some shoes, especially dress shoes, loafers and work boots, contain a metal shank (to reinforce the narrow part of the shoe's sole beneath the instep). These shoes will have to go through the standard x-ray like any other footwear, but are unlikely to require additional investigation.
Reply:It doesn't matter what type of shoes you wear because you now have to remove them and put them through the x-ray machine.
Reply:No unless you got one of them cowboy shoes wearing you twist the heal and a knife pops out the front.
Reply:idk, i doubt it
Reply:ALL SHOES MUST BE REMOVED TO SCREEN. It is a TSA Policy that you must abide by, or you will be denied boarding. Flip Flops are always preferable, as they are easy to remove and put back on.
Reply:work shoes like STEEL TOE SHOES A VERY BAD IDEA.
Reply:doesn;t realy matter. you have to take your shoes off anyway when you go through check point so my vote.. something easy on and off and comfortable

How to relieve the Pain of wearing High Heels?

I have size 11 pair of shoes that are 4' heels and my toes are in so much pain when i wear them. They get all scrunched up is that because they are to small or is there something special i can do to relieve the pain.

How to relieve the Pain of wearing High Heels?
Try getting your shoes a size larger or with a larger width. You can also try wearing open toe style heels and sandals too.
Reply:You're wearing a size 11, so I'm going to guess you are tall? Put that with a 4 inch heal and you are causing your foot to slide down in the shoe, pinching your toes. Try putting some cotton at the tip of your shoe so that your toes can't be pushed down and into each other, you also might want to put some cotton, just a bit, between your toes, to keep them from trying to push on top of each other. Also make sure your shoe is wide enough for your foot. There are a number of shoe widths, and if your foot is wider than the shoe width, you are going to have problems no matter what you do.
Reply:4 inches is a bit too high. That's why with the pull of gravity, you bear down on your toes which is not good. There are a number of things you can do:

1. Change the shoes into a wedge type. This way, even if your heels are too high, your weight will not have to be concentrated on your toes only.

2. Be sure that you prop up your feet above your heart after wearing your shoes and frequently while wearing them.

3. Be sure you have the right size.
Reply:try Dr. Scholls
Reply:Keep two tubs half filled with water side by side one having tolerably hot water and another having cold water. Approximately add 3 spoons of table salt per gallon. Alternate soaking your feet for about a minute each in these two tubs. Do it till the hot water feels cold then change the water to little more than warm and add salt and soak the feet in it for about 15 minutes. Try to flex and release feet a couple of times, rotate it clockwise and counterclockwise when you are soaking them in water. This will definitely relieve pain. You may also massage your feet when you are sitting and watching TV.

Good luck
Reply:The suggestions already made aboput changing your foot apparel are probably your best bet.

If you won't make a change, I suggest massage performed by someone who understands the problem you are going through. Might I suggest:

Good luck and take care of your feet.
Reply:Don't wear them -- it makes all us non-heel wearing gals feel better! :-)
Reply:You can try lower heels, i think beauty is pain, honestly but if you think its too small get and open toe most of the time the heel is to high for some people especially if your not used to being in such a high heel you can get used to them or change the size your feet slide forward when your heels that high up and that definitely takes getting used to I'm five feet i wear heels that high most of the time. Good Luck and if the shoe is too smaller get it bigger or your get corns my mom always told me that and i dont have any yet and hopefully never will.
Reply:Take them off??? Try that :] Perhaps let someone give you a foot massage haha.

PS size 11 is big! Not saying thats bad. Its actually good

What is this shoe called?

Those type of shoes that are high heels but are like filled in. they are like flats that go higher.

What is this shoe called?
This type of shoe my dear would be what we call a wedge. It simply looks like one. Its slender or sometimes just flows with the design of the shoe. But im pretty sure this is what you are talking about. "wedge heel".

I need wedding shoes that wont make me tower over my fiance! Anybody know where I can find some short heels?

My fiance is 5'8''-5'9'' and boxy and I am 5'7.5'' and very skinny so if we're standing next to each other the way I'm built makes me look taller than him as it is on a normal day. We're getting married and I have my dress ordered but it already comes up off of thee floor without any shoes on. I can MAYBE go up to two inch heels MAX!!! Plus I cant realy wear anything bigger than that b/c or my fiances hight and build. I know with my shoes and hair I dont want to tower over him like a monster!!! I just think that looks weird...on the other hand I dont want to sacrifice style and quality because I'm tall!!!

Can anyone please tell me good places to look for 1-2 inch heels that are still stylish sexy and/or cute??? I need to find something that still has a "wow" factor (yes my shoes need a "wow" factor) but is still low. Please no flip flops or slippers. My dress is VERY formal and I need shoes to match! Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I need wedding shoes that wont make me tower over my fiance! Anybody know where I can find some short heels?
That's tough...usually 1-2in shoes are mules...so then you "clomp, clomp, clomp" down the aisle. I'm about the same height as my husband...and I decided to wear lime green ballerina flats. They were nice, not flip-flop with fake flower crap and completely COMFORTABLE. They were by Guess (from Nordstroms) and had lime green gems on the top---my colors were orchid green and fuchsia. But I just got back our proofs and he is just a little bit taller than me...so mission accomplished. (I don't know if you're considering ballerina flats slippers.) Also, if you have photos outside be cautious of stilettos and sinking into the grass. This is a strange place to look, but Target bridal (on line)...I know, but they do have bridal shoes and they aren't that bad. The other place I would try would be some on line ballroom dance stores. They usually have 1-2 in heels and have straps so they will definitely stay on.
Reply:You can find shoes with low heels anywhere that sells shoes. I'm sorry, maybe i'm dense, but I honestly don't see what the problem is. Walmart, Kmart, payless, shoe carnival, the mall, sears, jcpenney, dillards, ross, kohls, tj maxx.
Reply:How about a pair of totally NON CASUAL bejeweled/beaded flats?

Or a very short heeled strappy shoe in silver, with lots of glitz and shine that wouldn't take away from the dress, wouldnt make you tower, but would still have that 'formal wow factor' you're looking for?

I don't know your style very well, so I'm not going to place any links or pictures, but you might google 'formal beaded flats', or 'strappy heels'? Maybe then you'll find more of what you are looking for. :]

Good luck, and congratulations!!
Reply:check on the nordstrom on line. www.nordstrom.com
Reply:sounds like me lol....i found the cutest shoes on ebay..strap around the ankle and everything the heel was only one inch...now i need to sell mine! they were white with rhinestones and ribbons PERFECt i just got married in june
Reply:I was in the same situation as you! My husband and I are both 5-6". These are the shoes I wore:

Have a look around their site, they have a lot of low-heeled but classy shoes.
Reply:Try http://www.myglassslipper.com/

Reply:eave you ever thought to get him special shoes for men that have a slight higher heel?..

also maybe there are shoe repair shops in your area that you can get the store to cut and lower the heal or replace the heal on a favorite pump for the occasion
Reply:Why not purchase white satin jazz or white ballet shoes. They are reasonably priced and very stylish.
Reply:Consider getting shoes with a kitten heel. There are also mules and slingbacks, and depending on the colors and styles, can look very elegant.
Reply:I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm 5'8" and my fiance is 5'9". I got these shoes at the Wedding Accessory Superstore in Phoenix. I found them online for you. The heel is very short, but it still looks elegant because it is thin, not the clunky ugly ones most low heels have. Also, the straps that go over the toes are really pretty. I would highly recommend these. They look really beautiful on!!!

http://www.shoebuy.com/coloriffics-andie...
Reply:You might consider a dressy pair of flats- simple can look nice with leather soles. Either that or just don't worry about it.
Reply:You're in luck, because right now there are some pretty spectacular flats and very low heels on the market. They're actually (pardon the pun) the height of fashion, so it won't look like you're uncomfortable with your small height difference but more in tune with the current trends. Here are a couple sources I found with a quick Google search:

http://www.perfectdetails.com/bridal_sho...

http://www.nextag.com/dyeable-flat-shoes...

http://www.elegant-wedding-shoes.co.uk/w...

http://frenchsoleshoes.com

Take a look at a couple of these and see if you find something you like. Most of them also carry low (1-2") heels as well as outright flats.

Since your skirt is hemmed a bit off the floor, you might even consider matching your shoes to your wedding colors, if that sounds fun to you. I actually wore a pair of bright red Scottish dancing ghillies, and they looked wonderful peeking out from my skirt.

Whatever you do, make sure your shoes are comfortable. After all, you're going to be on your feet all day. Even though my husband is a foot taller than I am, I'm really glad I chose flat shoes for my wedding. Not only did I not wind up with my heels sinking in the ground (it was an outdoor wedding), but my feet, legs and back still felt great when we left our reception.
Reply:i just got married in may and the really popular wedding shoe is called the wedding slipper. you wont really see them anyway so you dont need a sexy pair of strappy heels. plus wedding slippers is probably the only way to not look taller than your husband in your pictures since i assume you have an updo picked out for your hair
Reply:i bought my shoes at Payless, the dye able kind. they had a lower kind of heel, some were less than 2 inches plus they were reasonably priced.
Reply:My wife wore slippers so I would be taller then her instead of the same height.
Reply:Check out this Wedding website, which sells wedding shoe flats: http://www.bridalpeople.com/
Reply:I know these aren't very "wow", but I love them. The heel is 1 1/2 inches with a leather sole and very comfortable. Since they are Coloriffics, you can dye them afterwards to use again, which is always cost effective than having dust collector wedding shoes.

To ladies: Why do you insist on wearing high heels and uncomfortable shoes and then complain about it?

I cannot understand the logic behind it at all. explain it to me

To ladies: Why do you insist on wearing high heels and uncomfortable shoes and then complain about it?
Wow, the logic behind wearing fabulous shoes is simple... they're fabulous, making us feel better about ourselves, in turn radiating confidence... and what's more attractive than a woman with confidence? (lol don't answer that!)

Why someone would buy shoes that are less than fabulous (e.g. shoes that don't fit, so they're uncomfortable and therefore get complained about) is, however, completely beyond my comprehension. I've met many a fellow lady that for some reason thinks she's a narrow 6, when she's a wide 7.5... A size and a half bigger shoe will never make your butt look big. I promise.

Heels that fit will never be uncomfortable. They never have been. If you still think they are uncomfortable, they don't fit you. Find a different arch, a different silhouette, a different heel type, different straps, buckles or backs... because whatever you're doing so far just can't be right. Stop wasting your money. It makes you complain. And obviously, from this question, complaining is unattractive - no matter how great the sale is, no matter how great they look on that girl, no matter what your momma says.
Reply:High hels are sexy. They make legs look longer and leaner. It gets us attention from men.
Reply:i don't wear them cuz they hurt my feet and they also a make me taller than my bf, also i don't think pregnant woman are supposed wear them

flip flops= =}

berkenstocks= =}

heels= ={

tennis shoes= =}
Reply:I love heels. They make me feel edgy. They kinda have the same effect as black eyeliner: sexy and mysterious. They also make me taller which is great. And I don't think that heels hurt! I'm wearing 4-inch black knee-highs and I feel great!
Reply:LOL good question. I don't wear heels and never understood why some women would want to. Unless it was because they work in a corporate office or something. But would you rather a woman wear sneakers with an evening gown?
Reply:they like to ***** is all
Reply:According to mens viewpoint they are supposed to make your legs look sexy, I guess men design most of them too ? I never wear them, I guess wearing them provides trade for osteopaths. They should be banned, they just exploit women as the logic of designing them in the first place.
Reply:Just so we have something to b**ch about.
Reply:well because it makes us feel "hotter". and beauty hurts
Reply:Because we can!
Reply:The higher the heel, the better your butt looks. The better you but look the more attion you get and everyone wants attion!!
Reply:It's illogical but heels are so pretty. That's the reason.
Reply:I wear heels with my dresses and skirts. Heels look really nice and help add to a dressy affect. I do complain about my heels alot... mostly, I think that us girls do this because we need attention... or atleast we want it enough that it becomes a need. Ok... this is actually a bit tougher than I thought it would be to explain. When a girl buys heels, she doesn't think about how uncomfortable they are, she too consumed with thoughts about how good it will make her look. Then when she wears them, she wants them noticed, so maybe that's why she complains about them... I'm actually realizing that i'm not sure why I complain about my heels... Wow! This is weird.
Reply:Lol, because it doesn't hurt until it's too late (when you have no choice but to keep them on) :-P... That's my case at least. You when you first out them on, you don't realize the pain you'll actually go through. And, to me, even though every time I put on heels I remember the last time it hurt, there's always that optimistic thought that perhaps it won't be the case this time, hehe...
Reply:Same reason as footbinding. No, really. And those giraffe-neck ring arrangements....er...you name it. Not sure what the reason is. If you find out, lemme know please.
Reply:because we want you guys to say that we are so cute and hot that we can show off in front of you!!
Reply:one, high heels dress up anything and look good on women

two, sometimes you don't know how uncomfortable a shoe is until you spend a night in it.

we don't always know ahead of time.
Reply:Not me sugar, Flip flop flatties all the way, but, hey, that's just me.
Reply:like why do you wear clothes at all.

there is no logic.

shoes are needed and you will never understand if you dont already.

its like eating chocolate.

every heard the phrase no pain no gain?

there is truth in it.
Reply:Hey!!! Not all girls do that! I don't even wear High Heals and when I occasionally do I never complain!!!!!!!
Reply:They make my legs look AMAZING!!! The attention is worth the pain.
Reply:i personally dont wear shoes with more than a 1/2inch heel but heels do make the legs look longer and more attractive as my husband keeps hinting lol
Reply:because beauty is pain..i have to do a lot of things to look good that some people like yourself may see as painful or "uncomfortable" but in the end i look fabolous and thats all that matters..... and you can call me vain but thats just me
Reply:TOO LOOK CUTE AND SEXY!!! SO WAT IF THEY HURT WE WERE MADE TO TOLERATE MAN. MOST MEN DON'T MIND SEEING US IN HIGH HEELS. U KNOW U LIKE IT!!!! JA JA JA!!!!
Reply:they look good but hurt and if your so ****in annoyed why dont ya try em they hurt like ****
Reply:Because there are men in the world that keep women wearing uncomfortable shoes and clothing. Women want to look good for men, broadly speaking.
Reply:I wear what i feel comfortable in,and very rarely are they high heels.

They are not good for the spine or posture.
Reply:personnaly, i dont wear high heels. but i think therre is a logic behind wearing uncomfartable shoes. most uncomfortable shoes make you look taller n looking tall means a better personality outy look to most of the gals. n also they make your walk look much sexier n sophisticeted. Why do you think models in fashion shows wear high heels most of the times? coz the designer wants his/her outfitts to look great n high heels always add nice move to the clothing.
Reply:Because they're cute, they make your butt look good and they hurt
Reply:beauty hurts
Reply:you sound like a b****

girls wear heels to be sexy, and they only complain to people like who bcuz you challenge it!

dont question the women, hunny.

Can a regular shoe repair shop change a woman's shoe from a 3" heel to a 2" heel?

Sometimes I find beautiful shoes, but they are just to high. Do you know anywhere in Middlesex County I can go to get a custom job on my shoes?

Can a regular shoe repair shop change a woman's shoe from a 3" heel to a 2" heel?
i dont think u should do that because the size of the heel gives shape to the sole of the foot so if u mess with the heel then the shape of the foot will be weird
Reply:I really don't kno srry!!

How can i repair cracked/dry heels?

well, i wear flat dolly shoes alot so my heels are really dried and cracked, sometimes the balls of my feet hurt too

how can i repair this?

thanks!

How can i repair cracked/dry heels?
Pop to Boots - they have some brilliant stuff which I can't remember the name of!! Specially for cracked heels - comes in a tube.
Reply:Boots make a really good cream for this. It's called Gorgeous feet cracked heel repair. Visible results in just 3 days.

I use it, it's good. Costs about £3-50.
Reply:Get a professional pedicure.
Reply:You need to get professional pedicures and put a rich lotion on your heels after bathing.
Reply:Amy Z, I keep my feet together by 1 - wrapping them in a white towel in a foot basin and soaking the towel with apple cider vinegar. Let the vinegar work about 15 - 20 minutes. When you unwrap your feet, all of the dead skin will come right off; shower and 2 - use Therapeutic Foot Cream and Herbal Relief Spray by Aularale Cosmetics (aularale.com/7002). I'm certain this will work for you too.
Reply:If your heels are dried and cracked then maybe you should go to a coblers
Reply:You need heel balm with urea content, try boots or chemists. You need to put it on at night and in the morning, it is amazing stuff, it will repair the cracks and keep your feet soft. Also i would suggest if you wear ballet pump type of shoes to put some Softness of Suede luxury insoles in them. They are great and it feels like you are walking on silk. They come in gorgeous colours and animal print and stick in your shoes so they don't move around. They are only £5.50 a pair too!. I've got them in most of my shoes especially my heels as they really comfort your feet! Try prettypinktoes.co.uk for them
Reply:polly filler
Reply:I have this problem too mostly in the summer sandal season. I soak my feet in warm water, and use one of those heel files to slough off the dead skin, then I slather them in foot cream, hand cream or vaseline what ever is on hand, wrap them in plastic wrap or even a plastic shopping bag put on socks and sleep this way, there is noticeable difference in the morning, and if you do this for about a week every night then you will only have to keep moisturizing cream on them after to make them smooth. ( just be careful when you try to walk with the plastic and socks on - its slippery :)
Reply:You won't like hearing this, but cracked heels can be a symptom of certain varieties of Athlete's Foot. Try some cream for that first.

Read this if you don't believe me :-)

Reply:over the years i have found out that the best cure for skin complaints such as, cracked, split, hard etc is genuine tea tree oil, get an old bowl fill with enough warm water to cover your feet, put about 6 drops of the oil in the water, then soak your feet until the water is cold, 7 times a week, try it !
Reply:You can soak you feet for about 20 minutes (or right after a shower), then use a pumice stone to get rid of all of the dry skin on your heels. Apply a thick cream, not lotion, to your heels. (Cream is thicker and contains more moisturizers. You can also try Body butter by bath and body.) Right before bed you can apply the cream then put on socks to go to bed, this helps your feet absorb moisture. In the morning you will have soft skin. As for the balls of your feet, you need shoes that provide good fore front cushioning. Or buy a gel insole for that particular part of your foot. Insoles absorb shock as well as provide cushioning. You can find them at Foot Locker, Payless, mostly any shoe store. Good Luck!

How to walk in killer heels!!?

I have just bought some red satin shoes with a stilletto heels. Any advice on how to wear them with confidence?

How to walk in killer heels!!?
I'm a dude and this is a good question...

I've seen women that can walk in pair of high heels that it looks like steam coming up off the cup of coffee on a cold day. And I've seen beautiful women that look like they have Minnie Mouse feet and walk like a Picasso painting.

The point is; It is a talent to be able to swing the hip and dance through a stride in slow motion.

Good luck and if you see me watching, please give me a little wink - I promise I'll behave.
Reply:just focus on how GOOD they make you feel! (on the inside) High heels make me feel confident--

I honestly feel weird when I have on flats.

They WILL kill your feel by the end of the evening though-- lol
Reply:Just wear them around the house before you wear them out so that you get used to them.
Reply:Walk around your house in a hard wood floor area.

Practice makes perfect.

Did anyone else notice Britney Spears broke the heel on her shoe at the start of her performance at the VMA's

That's why she should have rehearsed and gone to dress rehearsal.... that's when she would have discovered that the boots are a bad idea.

She should have taken the boots off if they were a problem. She just wasn't prepared at all. She didn't even know the words to her own song.

No I didn't but good eyes! And I agree. She does looks good. Why is everyone saying she is fat? Is it because they are jealous? Hmm...
Reply:No but i noticed she has forgotten how to lip sync
Reply:Nope but i heard she broke into tears after the performance...did u know that 1?
Reply:No. Too busy looking at her pot belly.

She should have considered backing out than making a fool of herself. Poor girl.

A Shoe Poll?

Do you ever wear pretty/sexy/fun shoes (like 4-inch heels or black knee-high "leather" boots) just cuz you wanna?

Thank you for answering this POLL with DPN.

A Shoe Poll?
Yes, I do! Shoes can totally alter your mood. They can make you feel sexy, sassy, competent or comfy. I'm also a huge fan of stockings, or silly socks.
Reply:Sometimes I wear clown shoes for some of the tiki dances that go on. They just go with the mood!

Tiki rum shots!
Reply:Yes. Pretty shoes make me feel pretty.

Reply:Yes... Shoes can make a big difference....
Reply:Yes I do.
Reply:I'm a comfortable shoe type of Wookie
Reply:nope...I'm a guy, so I don't wear stuff like that
Reply:Oooo yeah! Cat had a black leather (short, very short) skirt, white cowl-neck cashmere sweater and over-the-knee black leather boots with waaaay high heels...can't wear them anymore. Can't walk in 'em. Left them with good pal in Minneapolis, who has probably thrown them out by now, that was almost 20 years ago! But it was a HOT Cat in those boots! Loved 'em!

You're welcome!

purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
Reply:Yes.....but i never seem to go out in them

they are still in my closet

Heels or no heels?

I love the way high heels look but I can barely walk in them, I even trip in one inch heels. I was trying on shoes one weekend at the shoe store and literally tripped up in a pair of heels. I really want to wear them at my wedding, though. Other then the fact that it looks better then wearing flats, I don't want to look so short in my wedding pictures standing next to my fiance who is a foot and a half taller then me. So should I do heels or not?

Heels or no heels?
If you decide on heels, then you need to do two things. First, wear heels a LOT at home %26amp; elsewhere until you can walk in them without tripping so much. Second, make sure your wedding dress can be bustled up in such a way that you can switch to flats during the reception if your feet hurt, without dragging the dress on the floor.

Don't worry, you can lean to walk in heels. Say, a ballroom dancing class might help, and you and your fiance could learn something fabulous for your first dance!
Reply:do the heels.Come home from work and put heels on and wear them around the house. Get use to the feeling of them that way on your special day you shouldnt have any problems. then after the pictures change into flats and party like a rock star.
Reply:i love the way high heels look with a dress. if you do decide on wearing them, wear them around the house constantly until you get used to walking in them. even buy two pairs of them and practice walking outside on the sidewalk with them too. i know i couldn't walk in heels, and once i did this (didn't buy the two pairs though) i was okay wearing them.

good luck!
Reply:Practice, practice, practice! By an inexpensive pair in the same height and style you would like to wear for you wedding. Then, anytime you are home, you have those shoes on! Start out walking back and forth, then try doing simple chores in them. Next, when you feel ready, where them out on errands (with a pair of jeans and a nice top you will look stylish!).

Now if after practicing you decide against wearing them at the wedding, you haven't lost too much money. If, however, you feel your ready to brave them, go out a buy a nicer pair for the wedding (since these ones might get scuffed from the practicing).

Best of luck to you!
Reply:Look for shoes with thick 1" heels. Easier to walk in and much more comfy.
Reply:If you're not accustomed to heels, then your wedding day probably isn't the time to try something new :-) Go for shoes with a 1-inch heel (max) and practice walking in them before the wedding. If your dress is floor-length, no one will see your shoes anyway. My friend wore white soccer shoes under her dress!!

I am petite - ok I"m short! - (5'2"), but I'm not wearing heels for my wedding. They hurt my feet, and I don't want to trip over myself. It's going to be a full day for you - you may as well have happy feet :-)
Reply:Heels give you a much prettier gait. Try not-so-high heels, and shoes that don't have a spike heel (a chunkier heel, a heel that's more centered at the back of the foot rather than at the very end of the shoe (called a "kitten" heel--often a shorter height), or a platform shoe). Even a little bit of a heel will make a big difference. Get the shoes early (be sure that they are VERY comfortable--not squeezing your toes or pinching your feet) and practice walking in them as much as you can around the house before the wedding. You'll probably get used to them fairly quickly. Also, bring flat shoes to the reception so that after the first dances you can be more comfy. Note that heels push your posture differently (therefore the more elegant gait), and they also stretch your muscles differently. So be prepared for small cramps in the backs of your calves or in your feet as you get used to the shoes. It will go away as your muscles get used to it, but you don't want to be experiencing that on your wedding day! Best wishes!
Reply:try a wedge or chunky one thn - break them in first too
Reply:Just about the only time in my life I wore heels was for my wedding. Wear (not too high) heels for the ceremony and the photos, then switch to a more comfortable pair of shoes for the reception (if you're having one).
Reply:ok if you have plenty of time for the wedding buy a pair o heels and walk around in them in your house you know like when you do laundry , dishes etc. anyways if not then buy those flats that are high so you dont look so small

because what would you rather see a picture of you short or picture of you flat on your face
Reply:The only way you should be wearing heels is if you learn to wear them properly. Nothing looks worse than a woman in a lovely outfit who can't walk in her shoes. It totally ruins the effect. Get yourself a paid of heels now and learn how to walk in them...otherwise, wear flats.
Reply:wear the heels when u are walking down the aisle. hold on tight to ur dad, or whoever is giving u away, and while ure taking pictures. then in the reception, take them off, and wear flats, or walk pare footed w/e makes u feel comfortable.
Reply:how about getting two pairs, get a confi heels for the pictures and the ceremony/church if you want and get a second pair of flats for the reception. This way you can have fun and dance your night away! congrats
Reply:that is your call entirely....

if you cant walk in the heels, i would probably stay away, the last thing you want to be is flat on your face in your wedding gown...

ballet flats are really cute and popular these days
Reply:no heels! you won't be able to see them anyways...and if you are worried about looking too short it the pics then just stand on your tip toes! your feet will be killing you and you want to be cozy that day! just wear like a 2inch heel...
Reply:Get a cheap pair of heels or borrow some that fit you properly and practice by walking in the house. Wear them while cleaning and doing chores around the house. You will get used to them after a while and then you wont look so funny trying to walk in them at your wedding. Get the heels that are wide and not skinny, they are in style right now and are easier to walk in. I suggest the color of your dress or clear ones.
Reply:Practice!

Check out tips at the below site....

http://www.heeldirectory.com/
Reply:You're going to be wearing those shoes for hours so make sure they are comfortable. But that doesn't have to mean you wear flats. Wear heels that are not as tall, like 1" or 2" heels. There are definitely nice shoes with heels like that. While you might how high heels look on you, it will be much worse if you trip and fall on your face when you're walking down the aisle!
Reply:I think you should try to find a wedding shoe with about a 1/1/2 inch heel but the heel should be thick so you will not feel that you will fall. Try qualitybridalshoes.com. Then on the left go to wedding platform shoes and look at "Julie" at $52.99. The heel I was talking about, where you will not feel like you will fall, and it is in white satin with an open toe for comfort. Check that site out.
Reply:If you can't handle even one-inch heels, I wouldn't attempt them. After all, if you're worried about how you'll look standing next to your very tall guy, just imagine how embarrassing it would be to actually fall off your heels!

And don't worry about how the photos will look. My guy is more than a foot taller than I am, and I wore flats at my wedding because I don't navigate heels well, either, and in the photos we look just fine. If anything, I think I look sort of dainty in those pictures - which is not a word I usually would choose to describe myself - and I like the look. Plus an experienced photographer has seen this situation before and knows how to pose couples to minimize extreme height differences.

If you do decide to go for heels, though, be sure to pick fairly low, chunky heels and practice as much as humanly possible in them ahead of time!
Reply:well people don't really see you feet under a big wedding dress so that doesnt matter all that much. You could wear heels for pictures (or even the ceremony) and just get flats or even flip flops for the reception so youre more confortable
Reply:Here are a few things that may help,

get a shoe with a ankle strap that will help support your ankle.

A heel hieght of no more then 2 1/2" if your not use to it.

Get a shoe with a rounded or open toe, not pointed, they can be difficult to walk in sometimes.

A thicker chunk heel will give you much more balance then a thin stilleto.

Practice practice practice. Wear them around the house, get a second pair of heels that are similar in a color you cna wear out and just start wearing them as often as you can to train yourself. Its just a balance thing...good luck!
Reply:I had my dress hemmed so short I could have walked bare foot. The day before my wedding, I bought 2 inch heels, and don´t regret it.

Get some high quality heels-not something from Payless, and wear them. You´ll be glad you did because you will feel better with a few inches added to your frame-I know...I´m 5´2" and my husband of almost three months is 6´4".
Reply:Something with a very thick heel is your best bet. You trip because you don't have a lot of experience wearing them. Buy them now and wear them around the house. It will only take a day or two to feel comfortable in them.
Reply:Wear them for pictures but walking down the isle NOPE!!
Reply:have some bring your heels for the pictures only.
Reply:Do 1" thick heels. Practice walking including stairs prior to event.
Reply:you could wear heels for the cerimony and pictures, but flats for everything else, they do take practice though and think of it this way as you walk down the isle your dad can hold you up lol
Reply:Have you tried on variations of styles, I find a chunky heel or wedge heel tends to be easier than a spikd heel. If your going to do strappy the heel needs to be wider. But you really have to look at a variety of places and maybe your shoe is too narrow. Zappos.com has some bridal shoes and you can see the heel closeup. Also, bring your shoes to the shoemaker he can adjust things for you and make them slip free. Buy another pair as back up to dance in for the reception. Here are some Dyables from Nine West.

Reply:You HAVE to be comfortable on your wedding day and you definitely don't want to trip (even if you practice beforehand). If your dress is floor lentgh, wear flats. Beautiful white flats or even ballet slippers. Get a great pair of heels (simple white pumps will do) for the garter removal/toss. Then go back to your flats for the dancing.

Why bother looking taller for your wedding photos when that's not reality? Have fun with it. Take all the traditional shots then add a few with him sitting or have him pick you up and hold you so you can look down on him. The only thing to worry about in the wedding pictures is that you are smiling.

I think they look like Lady Frankenstein shoes. I love high heels, but I don't care for wedges.

Who like wedge heels and why?
i love wedges...there are realy sexy:p
Reply:They're ok i can never find ones which fit me properly though
Reply:A girl can't go wrong with stilletos - wedge heels are hideous
Reply:I do not particularly care for wedges, the only time I have worn them was in the last few months I was pregnant with my boys. I was too clumsy to go for the high heels, there would have been trouble. lol
Reply:HATE high heels. Foot pain, back pain, and risk of broken ankle isn't worth it.
Reply:wedges are cool depending on the style of the shoe, high heels are also. it just depends on the outfit and how you put it all together. I like them both, the wedge does give a little more stability and balance for women with big legs like myself
Reply:I like both depending on style but heels kill me at work. Im in them all day. I get blisters and dry feet. Even good shoes do this to me
