I've got my first ever pair of slip-ons, i.e., shoes without shoelaces. However, once started walking, the socks will get drawn to the heels and it feels uncomfortable. How to prevent this from happening?

Don't wear socks! But if it is absolutely nessicary to wear socks, wear footies (The kind you wear at shoe stores to try on shoes)

Need help finding a specific running shoe?
Please read all before answering.
I'm looking for the Brand and where i can find it. I saw this one type of running shoe that was heel less... it just had a small sole section on the toe (front) that hit the ground as you run. Sort of like a sprinting shoe. so that when your running, your only running on the toe part of your foot and not using the heel.

My high heels are a tad bit too big for me. Is there a product that will keep my foot snug while I walk?
My foot size is somewhere between a size 5.5 and 6. The room between the back of the shoe and my heel is not a considerable amount, but I would like to close the gap so that I can wear them more comfortably and not worry about them falling off while I walk.

Just keep practicing with higher and high hels until you can do it very well. Try ballet toe shoes and try holding on to something and going on pointe. that should strtch and loosen up your feet to better fit houghs high heels.

I bought a pair of heels which are my usual size and for some reason it seems as though the back is a little too wide for my heels. They aren't sandals so they don't have a strap that I could tighten, everytime I take a step my foot slips out of the shoe.

Just put in some foot cushions into the shoes. It makes it tighter. Trust me it works, I do it all the time.

Reply:you HAVE to start with a low 1 or 2 inch heel first. and yes...wearing them in the house is actually the best way to learn. it's corny, but it works. then wear them a few times out and about. when you can wear them without thinking about how to walk in them, go to a 3 inch heel, then a 4, etc. i learned this way and i literally wear 4 or 5 inch heels just about everywhere. a 2 or 3 inch heel feels strange to me now.
Reply:I saw this in Cosmo- practice walking around your house barefooted on just the balls of your feet w/ your heel off the ground for 5 minutes a day, this builds the muscles you need to walk in heels. Then when you actually wear heels you need to keep your weight off your heels, because you will wobble.

Start using them at home and then try practicing them next time you go to a grocery store or the mall! When u get used to them start using higher heels with more of a spiked shape

Reply:LOL, I have to relearn that every single spring. All winter I wear flat shoes and boots, but all of my sandals have heels. At the begining of spring I put on my heels and walk around the house all day. I clean and make dinner and everything. That way if the shoes are new, I break them in and if they are not new I can remember how to walk in them.

Reply:you HAVE to start with a low 1 or 2 inch heel first. and yes...wearing them in the house is actually the best way to learn. it's corny, but it works. then wear them a few times out and about. when you can wear them without thinking about how to walk in them, go to a 3 inch heel, then a 4, etc. i learned this way and i literally wear 4 or 5 inch heels just about everywhere. a 2 or 3 inch heel feels strange to me now.
Reply:I saw this in Cosmo- practice walking around your house barefooted on just the balls of your feet w/ your heel off the ground for 5 minutes a day, this builds the muscles you need to walk in heels. Then when you actually wear heels you need to keep your weight off your heels, because you will wobble.
Reply:Start off using a heel thats shorter and has a thicker heel at first and practice in those. They are much easier to walk in and are good for practice. Start using them at home and then try practicing them next time you go to a grocery store or the mall! When u get used to them start using higher heels with more of a spiked shape

Reply:LOL, I have to relearn that every single spring. All winter I wear flat shoes and boots, but all of my sandals have heels. At the begining of spring I put on my heels and walk around the house all day. I clean and make dinner and everything. That way if the shoes are new, I break them in and if they are not new I can remember how to walk in them.

i jus bought a pair of shoes that have a suede interior and they slip off my heel when i walk, but they fit great in the toe area and everywhere else. I dont want to get another size but i do want somethin to either put inside the shoe on the heel part so that they dont slip off my heel or a trick that will help.

First of all, put a band-aid where it rubs up against your foot. That way you wont keep rubbing up against the shoe, and you can still wear the shoe while it stretches out.
I would go to target by the shoe section and usually on the end caps of the shoe racks, there are the no-slide pads you put in your shoe. They have all kinds of sticker things for your shoes, look at all of them and find the best for your shoe.

For some reason, if you don't pay attention to the shoebox, the shoe does not clearly state 8w. One other possibility is that the shoe has probably been stretched from other consumers trying on that same shoe. You have to be careful when purchasing shoes that are already on display for sale. Not sure of how long since you purchased the shoe, but you may want to take it back for a defect depending if either of the situations do not affect you. Again, as the other readers wrote, put a band-aid on the irritated area or try the no slip soles to put in the shoes. Good Luck

I am wearing a 3/4 length black dress to my Junior prom. What stocking and heels Combo do you think is best.?
I am also wearing my black garterbelt, and I have two choices of stockings, but you need pumps with one kind and can wear open sandal's with the other.
1. I have some ultra sheer sandalfoot stockings sooo sheer they can be worn with an open strappy 3 1/2 heel sandal shoe.
2. I have some ultra sheer seamed stockings, but there is a little darkness on the toe so I would have to wear my 3 1/2 pumps, but they are really low on the sides and come up in the heel and really look neat with the seams. What would you wear?

I would go with the seamed stockings. They are sexier(especially with the garter belt)...and the pumps are trendy this season. Um..you go girl!!!

Reply:This really depends upon the style of your dress and the weather you live in. If you are in the north where it's still a bit cold, closed toe. If where you are is a bit warmer, go with open toe shoes as it will emphasize the time of year. It all comes down to the shoes - the stockings will follow suit from there.

Reply:If you are wearing a garterbelt to your junior prom, you may as well go with the seamed stockings, and pumps. Its a little sophisticated for a HS junior, but it sounds like know how to make it work. Be careful if your doing the seams to get the really sheer kind of stocking, because the cheaper ones can look nasty especially in black. Thats why so many people are into the bare leg thing, they are used to the nasty cheap hosiery you get in the supermarket.

1. I have some ultra sheer sandalfoot stockings sooo sheer they can be worn with an open strappy 3 1/2 heel sandal shoe.

Reply:This really depends upon the style of your dress and the weather you live in. If you are in the north where it's still a bit cold, closed toe. If where you are is a bit warmer, go with open toe shoes as it will emphasize the time of year. It all comes down to the shoes - the stockings will follow suit from there.

Reply:If you are wearing a garterbelt to your junior prom, you may as well go with the seamed stockings, and pumps. Its a little sophisticated for a HS junior, but it sounds like know how to make it work. Be careful if your doing the seams to get the really sheer kind of stocking, because the cheaper ones can look nasty especially in black. Thats why so many people are into the bare leg thing, they are used to the nasty cheap hosiery you get in the supermarket.

I would like a permanent solution, is there something I can put in the shoe to keep the back of my heel from getting a sore. I tried band-aids and thicker socks won't work because then the shoe would be too tight on me.

If the inserts don't work try wearing nylons or tights with the shoes until you have broken in the shoe. Once you break in the shoe, it would have stretched to fit your foot and you should have no problem.

Which shoe?
We will be attending a BBQ/Patio Party; it might be a mistake but I will be wearing white pants. I still have my pink leg cast - my pant leg ends at the bend between ankle and foot and the good leg drapes over a heel. Which shoe do you prefer?

These shoes are beautiful but NOT bbq/patio party appropriate! It would be like a tank top in the winter or timberlands in the summer. Your attire should be weather appropriate and functional. You wouldn't wear a sports bra to a club or a coktail dress to the beach right?
Having said that...either pair would match well with the white pants. What does your top look like? What color?
Are you going to be okay walking around in a cast and heels? Wow!!!
Reply:i like the second in the dark pink... it also looks more comfortable to wear for a longer period of time. both pairs are cute, but the second seems more practical for a BBQ because you'll definitely be standing around.

Reply:The lighter one with prints because it's in season, and brighter colors are more suitable for a BBQ. Black is more of a night color. Make sure you get your toes done too!

I have wide feet (duck feet they have been called). But, one must be bigger than the other. Length is fine on new shoes I really like but the heal slips on one foot . Is there an invention or insert for one foot to stop the heel from slipping other than wearing a bandaid? Something I can leave in the shoe permanently?

There are these little rubber things called heel-grips you can get. Some higer-end shoe stores and departent stores give them away for free, and other places sell them for about 2 bucks. The heel grip has a peice of adhesive on it, and you just stick it in the back of the shoe. I have them in several pairs of my dress pumps, and they work wonderfully.

How do I get rid of the creaking sound coming from the heel/sole of my shoe?
My right shoe's been making a creaking noise for some time. They're New Balance 587's and have a compound deal that absorbs shock, in the heel of the midsole. If anyone has had these, you know what I'm talking about. What's the best way to quiet that creaking sound that's made when my heel strikes the ground during my instep? I'm serious, no BS please...
