If your friend was wearing high heels to do lunch or shopping with you, would that influence what you wore?

Say that you hadn't decided what shoes to wear yet, but you had arranged to go shopping and do lunch down the mall with your best friend. She turns up at your place wearing 4 inch high stiletto heel boots, jeans and a sleeveless top. You are also wearing jeans and sleeveless top and you are both about the same height in bare feet. Assume you have an extensive collection of boots, sandals, and pumps/courts of different heel heights and styles and also some flat casual shoes including trainers.





What style of shoes and heel height would you choose to wear with her on the trip and why? Would you go higher than her, equal, lower, or would her choice of footwear no make any diffence to your choice?

Hello Tammi, interesting question. It sounds like you are both very fashionable ladies and if you are good friends as you say then I would wear a pair of shoes that I feel good about myself in.


I have a variety to choose from so it would depend upon my mood that day more than what my friend may or may not be wearing. If I was in a pair of jeans and sleeveless top I think almost any height of shoes would go with this outfit.


If I'm going shopping with my friend in the afternoon I may save my taller heels for later when I am with my husband! :)


Of course if your just having one of those days and you want to look your best then wear your 5 inch stiletto heel boots and tease your hair a bit to make yourself look a couple inches taller! :)


Have fun no matter what you wear and if you have confidence in yourself, you will look good in anything!
Reply:I wouldn't care what they wear, I guess I wouldn't like to match her. I would wear what I feel like wearing that day, you know how some days you feel like you want to be more comfortable and laid back, so I would choose sandals or runners. But if I felt like I wanted to be a little more sexy, you know what I am talking about, then I'd wear my stilettos. I would seriously base it on what I'm doing the rest of the day, how I'm feeling, what I'm wearing (certain pants I can't wear with my heels cause of my height) and whats most comfortable.
Reply:None of this applies to me... Even if my best girlfriend showed up wearing her BEST outfit and shoes... Id wear whatever I want. Noone influences me on almost anything... Im self sufficient and I make my own decisions based on my own reasoning skills. Good luck.

Reply:Yes, her choice of heels would definitely influence me in what I'd chose to wear on my peds. I'm a very vain person, very conscious of my appearance - I definitely would not want to be upstaged by her. I want to be the "center of attention" when I walk into a room. I would probably opt for some extremely bare stiletto sandals, or mules with an extremely thin 4.5 inch heel. I'd place a diamond tennis bracelet around one of my thin ankles, and naturally have toe rings on my perfectly polished toes. I
Reply:I wouldn't let what she was wearing affect me one iota. I would wear what I wanted to wear. Having to "match" whoever you are with is too much like "following the herd" for me.
Reply:I would wear whatever looked great on me and whatever was comfortable. I'm not a shoe person - I own maybe 10 pairs of shoes and that's it. I really prefer to walk around barefoot.
Reply:I always ask what my girlfriends are wearing on thier feet when we go out. I'm pretty tall, but I love to wear high heels, and if my friends are all wearing flats, I know it's silly, but I tend to feel a little insecure being the tallest out of the group.
