What is thw size difference between womens ans mens shoes and/or heels?

i wear a size 11.5 in mens shoes. what size would that be in womens?

What is thw size difference between womens ans mens shoes and/or heels?
I think you'd wear a size 14.5 in womens !
Reply:I wear a 10 in womens and an 8 in mens. So if oyu are trying to wear womans shoes I would have to say you might have to special order them.
Reply:I'm a 8.5 womens' shoe size, and once when I tried on men's tennis shoes a 7.5 fit me. So, I guess it's a 1-2 size difference.
Reply:13.5 because a guys shoe is 2 sizes smaller than a womens.
Reply:Im pretty sure they have a one size difference. U would wear a 12.5.
Reply:any size will do if u want to get it on ur face, i think 14.5
Reply:It would be a 13.5, womens are always 2 sizes up

Ladies, what is it about shoes with chunky heels make you feel sexy?

Is it the leather,wood,or straps?

Ladies, what is it about shoes with chunky heels make you feel sexy?
I don not like chunky heels.

Only stilettos on these feet. I like to be classy and stick to my 40s/50s style.

And it doesn't matter, leather, straps...whatever. Heels make me feel sexy...period.
Reply:It's just heels in general. They slim the look of your legs %26amp; make you look taller. Any women would feel sexier if she had slimmer legs %26amp; was 3 inches taller. I don't think it's just chunky heels.
Reply:those shoes don't make me feel sexy (sob), they blister my feet! (the price I must pay to be a few cm's taller)
Reply:why would a man ask that question
Reply:They make us feel taller witch makes us feel like if we are as tall as a model witch is what guys like.

New Asics Nimbus 9 shoes and my heels feel kinda sore. Is this normal?

Do I need to break them in?

New Asics Nimbus 9 shoes and my heels feel kinda sore. Is this normal?
My BF and I are runners and he bought those shoes last year. He ended up returning them b/c they hurt him so bad. I know those are pretty expensive shoes too!

It looks like I'm alone here...I totally disagree with those that said you have to break them in. A shoe should not cause you pain when you run. Just imagine doing a long run in those shoes and at the end having a bloody heel! Ouch...

I'm a fan of the new Nike running shoes. I never really liked Nike for a running shoe in the past, but they redesigned their model and they're really roomy and have great cushion. I also like New Balance shoes. But with running shoes it's all about personal preference.
Reply:yes is normal, the material should adjust to the natural size of your body
Reply:you gada break them in .. if they were really expensive .. no take them back
Reply:yes every shoe takes a while to stretch out. after wearing them a few times they stop hurting. thats what happened with my school shoes
Reply:you shouldn't have to break shoes in. They should fit your feet perfectly when you buy them. IMO you should get your feet fitted for the proper shoe.
Reply:Were they selected by a professional fitter? My experience has been that it takes a few wears to get used to new shoes. Your shoes were probably chosen to correct your walking/running pattern and so you now may be switching on muscles and tendons that weren't working so well before.

I want a pair of cute shoes, such as heels, boots, wedges ect. can anyone suggest a good brand of shoes?

The best brand and the most comfortable brand is: BCBGirls. I can walk around in their dear all day in them. As for wedges try Kenzie, they are so cute. I have not tried them yet, but Beyonce brand of shoes are gorgeous - House of Dereon, check out the websites for yourself.

I want a pair of cute shoes, such as heels, boots, wedges ect. can anyone suggest a good brand of shoes?
it depends how much u want to spend. unless u plan in walking long distances or going to be on ur feet for a long time like for work, it doesnt matter brand wise. most shoes, even from walmart are just fine if u dont plan on wearing them everyday or dont think youll wear them for longer then 6mo - 1 yr - most styles are over by then anyways. and another point - most expensive shoes invest in a lot for the look of the shoe either it be made of leather or have fancy buckles, this leads the company to go cheap on the inside so the contruction of the shoe its self might be lacking eventhough the outside is expensive. so basically brand doesnt matter much, unless u need a good pair of running shoes or work shoes dont go cheap and shop around

Has anyone gone to prom with 4 inch heels?

unfortunately, when i went shoe shopping, the only heels that i was able to find are these GORGEOUS open 4 inch silver heels...i'm usually okay w/ wearing heels (like i run up and down stairs in them) but mostly i wear the 2 inch ones

i'm a little nervous about wearing these to prom. can someone share their experience, negative or encouraging? thanks!

is there any way to make them hurt less? thanks

Has anyone gone to prom with 4 inch heels?
I've never worn 4 inch heels, but you can use new Dr. Scholl's for Women. I saw a comercial for them today and they're for womens heels. Here's a link so you can look at them:

http://www.drscholls.com/forher/product....

You can also try wearing them around the house alot before prom so you can get used to them.

Have fun!
Reply:Well, it's totally up to you. Some people are total klutzes in heels while others wear them as natural as they were flipflops :)

Try walking around the house with them for a few hours just doing what you need to do. If they're unbearable after an hour or so, you may want to break them in further or just get other shoes.

Sure they could be really hot shoes, but you don't want to look back on your prom night an wince recalling the pain that came with each step...or worse, you might sprain your ankle or something and not be able to dance at all.

Bottom line, try them out at home to get a feel for them, then decide.

Have fun at prom!
Reply:Go for it baby! Other girls will die of envy and the boys' eyes will pop out
Reply:I wouldn't do it, you're going to be on your feet alot. Plus those shoes looks alot like something a stripper would wear, not a good look for the prom. There isn't any way to make them hurt less, you're forcing your foot into an unnatural position, it's going to hurt.

Just an FYI - it is totally tacky to run around in bare feet while wearing a gown. You're at a black tie event not at the beach.
Reply:GOD!Thats amazing.Go for it baby n don't lose it.If I were in your place i wouldn't have spent a moment in buying them.Just have confidence in yourself n you are gonna rock the prom with such wonderful heels.you are definitely going to be the PROM QUEEN.
Reply:Why be scared, oh I get it the guy you're going to the prom with. Let me say something it's perfectly alright and if you don't think yuo should war them and if not wear the 2 in. heels you wear or, buy new ones.
Reply:oh god, don't do it! You won't be able to dance or anything. Lots of girls wore flipflops to our prom. I wore 3inch wedges to my wedding. Got the height without the heel
Reply:Dr. Scholl's party feet invisible gel cushions. Make sure you buy some before you buy the shoes - you want the shoes to fit after you've put the pads in.

Also keep in mind that after about the first hour (because it's basically dancing all night long) you'll end up taking off your shoes and as many layers as possible like every other girl. The shoes are for pictures and to let you think your outfit is perfect! lol Just a decoration that comes off when you really want to have fun.

I had a friend who went to prom in flip-flops? We all laughed a little at her for it at first, but guess who we were all jealous of at the end? lol That's right. I wore 3 inch heels and thought I was going to die. (And I wear heels all the time).
Reply:I never wore 4 inch heels at any event. I prefer at most 3 inch heels. I am 5'10".
Reply:I have gone running in heels around 5-6 inches. Dancing and walking as well. For a more comfortable trip in them get Dr. Scholl's invisible gel cushions. They should help.

Your feet will be killing you at the end of the night, but just think you'll be looking gorgeous!
Reply:I have but if you are to be standing up for long it hurts loads the next day!
Reply:I would not suggest a 4 inch heels to prom, because there will be a lot of dancing unless you plan to sit down most of the time. After a little while your feet will hurt, you'll probably would have to take them off.

What you might do, if you're at home for a long period of time. Wear them to see if they are confortable enough for you to go to prom with them.

Good luck

How can I keep pointe shoes from slipping off of the heels?

My daughters toe shoes were professionally fitted and seemed to work just fine the first few times she wore them(they are her 4th pair). Now that they are broken in, however, they keep slipping off her heels. Can I fix this problem by repositioning the elastics or laces? Or, should we return to the store (which is a 3 hour drive for us)?

How can I keep pointe shoes from slipping off of the heels?
I'm not sure how you sew your ribbons or elastics on, but my teacher makes us take a small piece of elastic and fold it in half, into a loop and sew it on the top part of the back of the shoe, so you have a little loop of elastic sticking out the top of the heel, and when she laces her ribbons up, have her stick them through the loop, it will help keep the shoe attached in the back better and hold them up.
Reply:tell her to try rubbing a little rosin on her heels and on the back of her shoes. or have her try a thicker toe pad that migt fill out the shoe more. if the elastic is not sewn all the way at the back of the heel so that the ends are almost touching, you could try that too. and i have seen girls at my studio sew a loop of thin elastic (about a little bit less than and inch long) on the heel of the pointe shoe (kind of like the loop on the back of some regular shoes) and have their ribbons go through the loop so that the ribbons are holding up the heel, but there is controversy over doing that, some people say that it could cause tendonitis and some people say it is fine.

here is a pic of a regular shoe with a loop on the back, it would be pretty much the same on a pointe shoe.

http://www.wildcatcommerce.com/productim...
Reply:It seems like you should get a tighter fit. Or if she prefers them broken in, put a little lamb's wool in the box of her shoe to fill it out a little.
Reply:you should sew the elastics closer to the heel

have thick elastics rather than thin

sew them tight

use heel grips

wet the back of the heel and shoe with water

use confertable tights and wear the shoes with the tights roled up, but some teachers don't like that
Reply:make sure that the elastics are sewn on correctly. if you sew them criss cross, it holds the heel up better. (you use 2 elastics for each shoe with one end attached at the heel and the other at the arch)

also you can try getting Heel Grippers from Gaynor Minden. you can get them from www.discountdance.com they work really well. you just stick them into the heel of your pointe shoe and it holds them up.
Reply:I had this problem!! Simpilist solution ever.. just get the heel a tiny bit wet with water.. I use a drinking fountain. It will stay on the rest of class. I promise it works and it doesnt ruin the shoes or anything!! I promise, I do it 3 times a week.
Reply:put a little hairspray on the back of your heel. it works like a charm.
Reply:try fixing the lace
Reply:I have really narrow heels, and had the same problem when I got my first pair of pointe shoes. My ballet teacher told me to attatch the elastics closer to the back of the heel so it goes around the ankle. Also, attatching the ribbons in a different position could help keep the shoes on the heel. I'd definitely try re-sewing the elastics or ribbons before returning them, especially if they were professionally fitted. You can always return them later.

Good luck, I hope you get them to fit!!
Reply:I have pointe shopes myself and to keep the heel from slippling off put a piece of elastic around the heel.

At the back of the pointe shoe there should be a seem. Sew the elastic to either side of this and I can ganrentee you the heel will stay on!

P.S make sure it is tight

Are stilettos a brand of shoe or just a type of heel?

I was wondering because I've heard alot of people talk about the heel but i wanted to know if there was a brand of shoe named Stilettos.

Are stilettos a brand of shoe or just a type of heel?
It's a type of heel. Stiletto is the Italian word for dagger or carving-knife, and that's what the heel supposedly resembles because it tapers to a thin point.
Reply:They are a type of high heel, so-called because they are very narrow (like a stiletto knife).

The best stilettos are 3.5 to 4 inches high with a well-balanced arch and good heel counter (the part that holds your heel).

If you haven't worn them before, you need to practice walking in them - they take a bit of getting used to.
Reply:stilettoes originated in the 1950's .

they are very slim, high heels, 3 inches or more in height.

manolo blahnik and christian loboutin and jimmy choo all make stilettoes.
Reply:they are a type of heel
Reply:its a type of heel, the heel is very thin and usually high.
Reply:heel
Reply:type of heel, sweetheart
Reply:It's a really skinny high heeled pump
Reply:It refers to tall heel.
Reply:It's the heel of the shoe. Usually slender and higher than 2 inches. Very sexy, too, I might add. If you choose to buy them, practice walking in them first. Chicks look soooo stupid stumbling all over themselves. Have fun with it though.
Reply:nope, just thin heels.
Reply:It is only a type of heel, it is a skinny and high heel. I used to think is was a brand... lol.. but then I learned. They are a very beautiful, 'dainty' heel.

ALSO: Practice walking in them first, they are hard to walk in the first couple of times, and you don't want to look funny walking in them... Lol... Good luck!

Good luck finding a pair!

Hayley
Reply:type of shoe developed by the Italians as the name denotes meaning tall and skinny basically that comes down to a point usually 4-6".
Reply:its a type of a heel... its really skinny
Reply:just a type of heel. back in the 1950's the heel in a stilleto shoe was actually a very sharp knife. these were then banned from dance halls
Reply:it is a type of heel.....tall and skinny

Have you experienced pain/discomfort in your pelvic area from wearing boots with heels of at least 40 mm?
Good Question! I Need To Know Too...
Reply:Yes; it thows your body out of alignment, causing stress in other areas.
Reply:wearing heels of any kind actually is very harmful to men and women it cause displacement of the spine and hips that could be the cause of your pelvic pain. they can also cause shortened calf muscles and feet problems.. which could greatly effect your walking as you get into you elder years...

it can also effect you balance:(

they have also been linked to bone spurs on the heels and joint prolems in the knees...

hope things start feeling better for you soon..... try not to wear them as often and use a body pillow to sleep with to align oyur hips at night :)

No have not
Reply:Heels are no different for men as they are for women - they still have all the same limbs and bones, it should be easier for men if anything. Nevertheless, I have never known any men to experience discomfort when wearing heels over 40mm. Your problem could be one for a general doctor.

I am a nurse and at the end of the day my feet hurt badly, especially my heels. what shoes do you recommend?

You should really try MBTs. They're pricey but are so comfortable it's like walking on air. The secret of these shoes is the heel which is curved to help reposition the body.

I am a nurse and at the end of the day my feet hurt badly, especially my heels. what shoes do you recommend?
defiantly crocs! i know a nurse who wears those and she loves em!
Reply:At the pharmacy (drugstore) there are shoes which are good for comfort and make your feet feel better. Otherwise, you should stay away from high-heels, stilettos, etc. Wear thongs or comfy sandals with a soft sole; wear soft or fluffy slippers around the home. Good luck! Oh and you can get cream for your heels at the pharmacy (drugstore) too.
Reply:I'm on my feet all day also. I went to a local shoe store, I told them the problem I had and they talked me into getting a pair of custom orthotics for my boots. They took a mold of my feet then had them ordered. They were kind of expensive, but I haven't regretted getting them!
Reply:Try Crocs. I always see medical people wear them. (and they look good with the outfit, too) Just buy a pair (or more!!) of the color(s) of your scrubs.

these are what I normally see most nurses wear...

http://shop.crocs.com/pc-16-4-cayman.asp... They will start to fit to your foot the more that you wear them. And if your feet still hurt (even though they shouldn't after these...) you can always buy a pair of insoles. There are ones for arch support or gel ones or ones just for comfort.

I hope that this could help you!! Good luck!

They make cute ones too..because I wore a pair to highschool.. (I'm not a nurse..they were just too comfortable to pass up though! haha)
Reply:I say that after work you go and massage your feet and every week (sunday I should say, the relaxed day of the week) go and soak your feet (dont have one? go buy one! you deserve it!) and massage it, use lotion and also wear comfy crocs or nursing shoes. Also schedule a litte down time and don't do it yourself, go to a salon and have people give you a nice little pedicure and if they hurt really really bad after work, stay off them for a while.

And don't forget!.... Get squishy soft and comfy house slippers!
Reply:I LOVE Dansko shoes! I am on my feet all day, too, and Dansko pretty much cured my "foot aches"...within 2 weeks of wearing Dansko, my feet no longer hurt after standing on concrete for 12 hours.

Pointe shoes with high heels, would you wear them?

I think the only one who can pull it off is Jennifer Lopez. Ballet points with heels are so tacky on other women... whereas pointY shoes with heels are sexy. Guess all the answerers are confused about which one you meant here.

Pointe shoes with high heels, would you wear them?
Yes, but you have to waer them with the right clothes. i personally do not like them with skinny jeans. Soem people can pull it off. I like them with flared formal wear the best. Flared jeans with pointy high heelsl make a good date outfit.

Pointy shoes always look best with crazy colors or designs on them. They go well with plain shirts and purses. Great to jazz up a boring outfit. They look great at work or court.

Are shoes with high heels fashionable in France and in USA? Do women wear them there on everyday basis?

heels never go out of fashion. the style might change a little, but they are always in fashion. right now, for spring this style is really happening!

Are shoes with high heels fashionable in France and in USA? Do women wear them there on everyday basis?
I only wear high heels when I have to. Such as weddings, baptisms, church or when I am in a meeting. Other than that, I wear flats as much as possible. I think it's more because I am already 5'9" and majority of the people I know are already shorter than me. I look completely weird towering over everyone in the office, including the men.....lol. But that's my personal choice. Oh, not from US, but from Canada.

Are shoes with high heels a major turn-on?

Yes! They are sexy and classy but the girl must know how to wear/walk in them comfortably and stylish. As Marylin Monroe said, "All womankind should thank the man who invited high heels."

Are shoes with high heels a major turn-on?
yesssss all guys tell me
Reply:yes
Reply:only if the girl can walk in them gracefully
Reply:Yea it is it really brings out ur legs when ur wearing a dress

Reply:Very sexy on an attractive woman.
Reply:I find them a big turn on but if your wearing a 4" heel and you can't walk in them then don't bother to wear them.
Reply:yes, to shoe companies.....you must have more shoes in every color....
Reply:In a word...YES!!

There are many different styles of heels out there and the best for getting a guy's attention are stilettos 4" and up.

Also, think of how many adult sites are DEDICATED to high heels and feet!! They're there for the $$$ and would not compete if there were not many more $$$ to make from their pics/vids :-)
Reply:ya, but guys only like them when they are in that 4 to 5 inch range. the little 2 or 3 inch heels just don't do it for us. seems like women are really getting into the non-platform stiletto heels again and it's HOT! it's classic, never goes out of style.

Can men wear shoes with high heels? what is the maximun size of heels for men?

no, the maximum height for men is a half inch

Can men wear shoes with high heels? what is the maximun size of heels for men?
cowboy boots would be the only masculine way to have a raised heel for men.
Reply:It's up to you really; the only men i've seen wearing anything above a two inch heel were transvestites. Yayy.
Reply:i agree on the cowboy boots. i have never seen a man wear anything other then that. my science teacher wears them everyday.
Reply:ok so that is so not cool or hot dont do it please
Reply:Sure, but high heel's and big fat belt buckle's went out of fasion 20 yr's ago. Plus I believe heel's are bad for the back.
Reply:here's the thing...you've got to have some confidence in who you are and not worry too much about your height. faking your height is a waste...plus, if you are trying to impress a girl she will notice your shoes...girls notice stuff, and they will realize what your true height is.
Reply:ya you can but not more than 1.5 inch
Reply:yes we can, like in formal shoes there is heel...but dnt wear a heel more than 2 inches...it wont look nice...and even if u want to make sure ur pants are more longer than ur legs!!!
Reply:only if your Prince. otherwise i go with the others and say cowboy boots.

Any Drag Queens out there? Or know shoe sizes- womens to mens?

If a guy wears a 10.5 men's shoe, what size heel would he wear?? Getting a jump on Halloween!

Thanks!!

I know there are some drag queen websites out there that have charts but my work blocks everything!! So if you can help me out- it's worth 10 points!

Any Drag Queens out there? Or know shoe sizes- womens to mens?
well I'm a 10 in womens shoes, I wear a man's 8. so probably like a women's 11 or 12. go to kmart its where all the drag queens shop! or that off broadways shoes. are you sure that you and your husband aren't doing some freaky stuff that I need to know about? I do have a key to your house
Reply:im not sure of how the measurements go but i wear i size 5 in womens and can wear a size 3 in little boys i cant even start to wear mens i know cause my hiking boots are little boys
Reply:Womens sizes are 2 sizes smaller in womens size. So 10 1/2 men would be 8 1/2 womens.

Good luck!
Reply:,I was always told Mens sizes are 1.5 larger than a women's size. So if I shop in the mens, I go down 1.5 size.. and it's typically about right (with some minor adjustments, of course).
Reply:Womens shoe sizes are 2 sizes larger than mens. So 12.5.
Reply:add two sizes to the male size for his female size

here is a good site for a chart
Reply:Other people have already answered the question, but I just want to remind you to make sure to take into consideration that woman's shoes are always more narrow than Men's. So when you are looking at them get a more round toe or about a half size bigger than you would normally get.
Reply:If a guy wears a 10.5 shoe in men's then he is going to have to wear a 12.5 in women's!
Reply:The conversion is about a size and a half from men's to women's depending on the brand. The first person has it backwards. A men's size 10.5 is about the same as a women's 12. If you wear an 8.5 women's you would wear about a 7 in mens.

Hi. I need a pair of silver dressy shoes, gotta be heels, and I was just wondering if there are any good cheap websites that I can look at. I tried Zappos but they are kinda pricey. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

What is a good yet cheap shoe website?
www.payless.com

Over half of my shoes have came from Payless (and I have a lot of shoes), and I love every pair! I have a couple favorite pairs that are over 3 years old, and they're still going strong. And the good thing is that Payless' shoes are comfortable and affordable.

Here's some dressy, silver heels that you might like:

Reply:Try Payless. Most of their stuff is under $30. Also, they last awhile, too. This is my third winter with a pair of boots that I bought a couple of years ago. The seam is coming apart, but it's nothing major. They should last me at least one more year. When I finally get to a store, or just order them online, I'm going to get these:

I expect them to last me a few years as well.

Where does the soul of your shoe go after you wear them down?

you wear shoes and your heels wear down, but how come you dont see any scuff marks on the sidewalk? Could some one answer this?

Where does the soul of your shoe go after you wear them down?
It becomes part of the universe and enters the cycle of life.

Parents only? At what age would you let your daughter wear make-up? High heels (not spikes)?

My 12 year old daughter thinks it is totally unfair that we will not let her wear these things. I told her that she needs to wait until high school to wear make-up but the heels are another issue. She has ADHD and is always tripping over her own toenails so I'm just afraid that she's going to break her neck in them! But sometimes it is so hard to find nice shoes without a heel.

Parents only? At what age would you let your daughter wear make-up? High heels (not spikes)?
Mom, this is such a difficult thing for you. But it's one of many things you're gonna have to come across being a mother of a pre-pubesant teenager. Every parent wants their kid to like them. But that's not actually the best way to go about it especially with teenagers. Times like this as well as several others that will come again and again in the next 6 years you've got to be her mother and not her friend.

Make up....#1. Make up makes women look older in some cases and more mature in others. This will create attention towards your 12 yr old. From boys her age to boys older than she is. #2. Make up is really not good for the skin, especially at 12. Remember, she's going to get these surges of hormones if she has'nt already and make up can actually aggrivate her skin causing early acne and breakouts ( she's not gonna like that ). Let her start out with lip gloss if you wish. Some lip gloss has spf protectant and some of them come with just a hint of color.

Heels.....It's a fact that the later a woman wears heels the better. With your little one it's important to remember she's still growning and wearing heels at this point in her life it probably not the best thing for her feet, her still developing calf muscles and her balance. If you wish to allow her to wear a heel make it a chuncky one. Thin heels require balance. Lots of balance. I'm pretty up there in age and still a little wobbly on thin heels. But at 12? Hmmmmm, personally I never let my God-daughters wear them at that age. The first time they wore heels was when they got invited to their first homecomming and prom. Only at that time did I feel that heels were appropriate.

If you're feeling against the heels and the makeup for your little one sit her down and let her know what your decision is and why. Let her know that your mind will not change the more she whines. No one wants to deny their child something they want but as parents we've got to make the best decision possible for them for their own good even if they don't see it that way. That's why we're parents, not friends. I hope this helps you in some way. Take care and I wish you both luck.
Reply:We make a big deal about makeup, etc. The rule in our house is that if you've started your period then you are old enough to wear lipgloss and mascara. (there has to be a benefit for being caused all that hassle!) When you are old enough to date, you can wear makeup (after being given lessons by mom) and heels. The reason being that wearing makeup is really done for 2 reasons - 1. to look attractive to males and 2. to signal a certain maturity. I don't want anyone thinking my 12 year old is 15, and if she is wearing makeup, that might happen.

Explain to her about the unwanted attention she might recieve if she looks and acts older than she is.

Good Luck!
Reply:If she really wants to do it that bad let HER come up with a plan for you on how often she will wear her make up, where she will wear it, how much she can wear, etc. Don't just tell her NO because it will make her want it more. Align with her so she can see how you really feel, but put all the responsibility back on her about making good decisions.
Reply:I was aloud to wear heels when I was 10. They weren't high heels but they were heels. Almost every time we go shoe shopping, mom said to walk in the heels first (for at least 10 minutes), just to see if I'm able to keep my balance. If I don't trip, I keep the shoes. If I do, we look for something a little shorter.

As for makeup, let her use mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss (choose 2 out of the 3). All the the other types of make-up (lipstick, eye shadow, ect.).

Of course, that's just my opinion, you don't have to listen to me.I'm not a mom
Reply:my daughter is still 17months old. but i was 13 when i started to wear makeup. just a little though lipgloss and mascara. and the heels i dont see nothing wrong with a small heel
Reply:id say let her wear the basics maybe some powder, a clear lip gloss, some mascara, and a light almost translucent eye shadow. that way everything looks natural, but really not noticable, and she will be happy because she will be wearing make-up, just as not much as she would probably like to wear. About the high heels try getting her a sandle with a plat form, it will be a shoe that makes her feel taller but you wont have to worry about her breaking her neck, cause the plat form usually covers the whole bottom of the shoe not just a little area.
Reply:probably 16+ because at her age she could acciedently fall or something
Reply:I would say 13, but if you don't teach her that light make-up is best, she will over-do it when she can. Try teaching her to wear a light pink lip gloss and a light, sparkly eye shadow, maybe a neutral color. You can also teach her how to put on a little bit of black or brown mascara. This way, she'll learn how to wear it right. Skip the blush, lip liner and eye liner for now.

For heels, I would suggest a wedge sandal. They are really popular right now and they are sort of heels, but sort of not. They are a little dressier than flat sandals and some come really low.

Hope this helps.
Reply:13 If she wasn't acting slutty.
Reply:i was 13. for both. i wasnt adhd though
Reply:Now that she is 12 I think you should let her wear a sheer color eye shadow and some clear mascara..and with the heels let her wait on thos..
Reply:I would allow light make-up at age 12. Lip gloss, eye shadow and blush would be plenty. No mascara, foundation or eye liner yet. As for heels, I personally would allow a small heel, pump style, for special occasions such as holidays, parties or church but go for the comfort of flats for school. If she falls a few times, she will decide on her own that they are not such a good idea, until then, you telling her will do no good. Ultimately, the decision is yours as her parents.
Reply:14-15+.. If you do make up and use cosmetics at this age.. your tender skin could get affected by the chemicals in the cosmetics or in the make up...

If you wear High Heels at this age.. your skeletal at your back might get problems at this age.. you might get pain ur back...

Consider it urself !!!
Reply:i'd say at 12 let her wear light eyeshadow and lipgloss...the rest of the make-up can wait. what about instead of heels getting her nice clog sandals? That's all I wear
Reply:I was 10 when I started to wear make-up,but make sure she keeps it natural(not bright red lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, bright eyeshadow, dark blush, she would look like a clown),just maybe some light eyeshadow,a little mascara, maybe light blush, and a lipgloss.I was 14 when I started wearing heels, there fine but start her out with like a small kitten heel, and she how she does.

Can I stretch the heels of my leather shoes?

I'm a teacher on a limited budget and I "splurged" and bought these nice ballet flat Coach shoes only because I really liked them. Only, they left "huge" and I do mean "huge" blisters around my heel areas as the area seems a little high. Please, please say something can be done. I love these shoes but they totally kill my feet. Thanks!!!

Can I stretch the heels of my leather shoes?
If I were you, I'd have them stretched by a professionally just a little because over time, the leather will stretch. You don't want to have those shoes you splurged on, get too big on you.

For the blisters, I would go to my local EMS store and buy some Mole Skin. Cut and place a piece of mole skin on the back of the shoe. It will no longer give you blisters, I mean if it works for hiking. It should work for cute shoes.

Have fun with those shoes! Happy teaching!

Krazy.
Reply:Band-aids!

:]

Try putting band-aids inside the shoe where the blisters appear. You might have to tape them in, because the band-aids will come off as you walk.
Reply:take them to a shoe tailor or whatever there called i think they can stretch them a little bit no sure though
Reply:those shoes must be really cute!!! its nice too see that u treat yourself. : ) leather shoes do strech out overtime, but for now, i would wear them around the house with bandages where the blisters form to prevent new ones and to strech the leather. after your shoes have streached to the desired length, take the bandages off and show the off your blister free shoes! hope this helps!

♥♥♥aly
Reply:I know you can stretch leather sandals by getting them wet and then wearing them but I am not sure you would want to try it with a new pair of coach shoes. Or Maybe you would....

Question for the shoe-aholics...........?

While at the local mall yesterday, I saw some shoes from Steve Madden. They were the closed toe, laced, 2-tone business looking shoe, with a 4" heel.

Cute for $80.00.

My problem is that I have really high arches.

Within 20 minutes, I find it difficult to walk in heels that are 2 inches or taller; the balls of my feet feel like they are on fire.

And even the Dr. Schole (sp) foot pads don't help.

So my question is, do heels that cost over $250.00 any more comfortable than heels that cost less than $100.00?

Question for the shoe-aholics...........?
No. It's the style of the shoe that matters, not the price. I could see if you were going to pay more for specialty shoes, shoes that are for people that have high arches. If you're not going to spend your money on that, then you're wasting money. Why do you want to walk in high heels anyway? If it's not comfortable, don't wear it... you might have back problems and other posture problems, anyway.
Reply:I have a variety of different kinds of shoes. I won't buy shoes that are really that expensive, but also I shop at places that will sell name brands and high fashion shoes much cheaper. For exampe a pair of Steve Maddens that I just bought this weekend (and they are just so cute) were only 40/50 bucks. But back to you question, money isn't really the issue here. I have a similar problem with my arch on my foot, which I always thought it should have been the other way around, but the only thing I can recommend is when shopping for shoes, you have to try them on and you have to walk around a little bit with them.

My upper heel rubs inside my shoe and wears down the material, making it uncomfortable. What can I do?

I think the back of my foot (heel area, just below my achilles) is sharper than normal, because all of my shoes for my right foot wear down inside to the point of no cushion. It can be painful after a while. Are there Dr. Scholl type things I can use?

My upper heel rubs inside my shoe and wears down the material, making it uncomfortable. What can I do?
I wonder if you have heel spur? Ask Doc to send you for a x-ray.
Reply:Yes, there are cushion heel guards. Check your local drug store where they sell Dr Scholl's foot pads.

Sometimes Shoe Stores carry them also.

Have developed gristle like lumps on my heels with bad shoes! What can I do to get rid?

They are hard ridges on each ankle just at the top of where the shoe sits, only appeared about two months ago. I know its the shoes as they just came when i got them.I have stopped wearing them. Any suggestions how to remove them, They are sore, hard, rubbery and look like football studs!

Have developed gristle like lumps on my heels with bad shoes! What can I do to get rid?
i am going to give you a tip use the PED EGG u can get it at walgreen s for 10 bucks look it up it works !!!!
Reply:Get a pumice stone. Soak your ankle area with your feet in warm water until the skin is softened and then file the ridges. This may take several days of filing because you can irritate the area if you try to get all the skin off at once. Wear socks at night with Vaseline on the hard ridges since this will soften the area and allow it to return to its normal state. Plus the Vaseline will make it easier for you to file the skin off when you use a pumice stone.

Which looks better on bridesmaids...high heels or flat shoes?

I have a friend getting married. She asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. Right now she trying to decide if the bridesmaids should wear high heels, flats, or sandals? It will be a church wedding.

Which looks better on bridesmaids...high heels or flat shoes?
Hi my beautiful friend, Glad to have you back, I miss you very much. I think high heels would go better in a church wedding. Don't you think so? Luv ya, david
Reply:My first thought would be heels. I wear heels every day of the week. I am now to the point that flats are uncomfortable as hell for me to wear! Why not ask each bridesmaid what they would prefer. As long as the shoes are the same texture and color they will be fine. Many places that dye shoes have a variety of flats, heels and dressy sandals that can all be dyed to match the dress.
Reply:Flats!

I am a bride and my girls will not wear heels. I want them comfortable, so they'll be wearing flats.
Reply:I left this up to my bridesmaids. All I wanted them to wear was a white pump - so they chose style and heel height to what suited them.
Reply:You my dear would look fantastic with high heels and being that it is in Church also more appropriate.
Reply:It all depends on the dress. If the dresses are short, then I would say heels. But, if the dresses are floor length, then let them wear whatever they want.

When my sister got married last year, our dresses were floor length. Her only request was that she wanted our shoes to be gold. Other then that, she didn't care. I ended up getting a gold sandals that had just a really small wedge.
Reply:i think flats for bridesmaids are fine, even for the church. . The attention won't be the on bridesmaids as much as it will be on you. i think sandals may be alittle too casual, even the dressy kind, i wouldn't go with sandals.
Reply:A small strappy heel. A cross between a heel and a sandal - you know a sandal with a small heel (kitten heel).
Reply:If it is going to be in a church I would say heels, if it were going to be an outdoor wedding I would say flats or sandles.
Reply:If you get high heels, don't make them too high. My sis picked out some 4" heels for us, I am already 5'8" and I was towering over the best man at her wedding. Plus, it was uncomfortable. Go with a kitten heel, if you can.
Reply:My dear that is actually up to her in the end, you can suggest but do it with caution that way if things don't go right you don't get the blame for the idea, put it to her this way "what would you want?"
Reply:High heels for sure.
Reply:Something that is not only pretty but comfortable. I would not want my bridesmaids to be in uncomfortable high heels all day and than end taking them off and walk barefoot.

I would look for something that is stylish and and comfortable. They are out there.
Reply:I also have a friend getting married and she letting us pick our own dresses and our own shoes in the colors she picked out, that way we wont all hate the dresses and im thinking i might wear some chuck taylors shoes
Reply:wear high heels

Have You Ever Had The Heel Of Your shoe Cut By a proffesional?

i have some Black Pumps which i love but they are just too high to manage on a regular day basis..especially in NYC where the ground is not smooth and..u have all these rocks, and cracks..and things... so i was thinking of having maybe an inch taken off... My mom says it damages the shoe......but i dont know!..Lol just wanted someones opinion!.. ! There from NINE WEST if that Helps LOL

Have You Ever Had The Heel Of Your shoe Cut By a proffesional?
It won't work. The shape/angle of the shoe is designed around the height of the heel. Change one and you have to change the other. It is not easy to alter the angle of the shoe.

Solution is to wear them around the house and get used to them or if they are work shoes, walk to work in a pair of low heels/flats and change into the high heels when you get there.
Reply:Yeah I wouldn't do it. It really messes with the quality of the shoe.
Reply:I've had it done but it doesn't seem as good as buying them new.
Reply:dont do it, it will take the form of the shoe off balance.
Reply:I have not hade the heel of my shoe cut by a perffesional because i dont wear high-heals a lot
Reply:I've never heard of this being done but you might want to be careful doing this.

The heel is made to be in proportion with the arch of the shoe. If you cut off too much your shoe might curl up on you and you'd have elf feet and sore calves.

I'd look into a few different shoe repair places to see what they say.
Reply:No, but my wife had it done by a dude who works at the cannery, who does it "on the side".

Does anyone have any tips for healing dry heels?

I walk around my college campus like crazy (wearing tennis shoes). And the heels of my feet are cracking and really dry. And now the cracks are opening into cuts. Are there any treatments that don't involve going to the doctor?

Does anyone have any tips for healing dry heels?
Wear non-cotten wicking socks. Marino wool and cool-max are goods materials, how the sock is made also makes a difference. I use "Smart Wool" marino wool socks, and a couple different brands of synthetics with good results on my runs.

Moisterizing cream also is important, I've had good results with cream containing tree tea oil.
Reply:Get a pumice stone for when your skin is better.

Buy "Eucarin" or "Eucerin" i cant remember how its spelled. Apply it immediately after a shower.

Are you wearing socks? Wear socks.

Are flat shoes just as sexy as high heels?

I wear alot of flat shoes as i am tall can these be as sexy as high heels guys what do you think?

Are flat shoes just as sexy as high heels?
Nope, sorry. the high heel makes it sexy
Reply:Heels are always sexier. The lift the rear, force the chest out and define the legs.
Reply:Sexy is in the mind. Heels make your legs look longer and are always sexy with jeans...capri's....dresses and skirts. If you have long skinny legs show them off guys love to alot of legs then it won't matter if you have on flats or not. If your not comfortable showing them off don't wear something short cover up your legs and accessorize. (ex. ankle bracelet...nice pedicure toes....cute dangly belts...little cleavage) take the focus away from the shoes. Bottom line you want to be comfortable even if you wear heels if you don't feel sexy in them you won't look sexy. Nothing like seeing a woman with heels on that looks and walks like she's uncomfortable it can make the sexiest look un sexy.
Reply:ABSOLUTELY NOT... heels are sexy, because of what it does for a woman's calf, shaping it and 'pointing the toe'.. and elongating the legs... think about it, if flats were 'just as sexy' what need would there have been for high heels for the last few hundred years %26amp; why are the highest heels the sexiest? Heels make women look awesome, from the red carpet to casual sundresses.
Reply:They can be for me all womens shoes can be sexy! Flats are hot if they have toe cleavage!
Reply:No.
Reply:Flats can be just as attractive, but traditonally speaking, heels are always the sexiest kind.

Unlike flats, they really change the shape of your body and legs. Your butt and chest stick out more and your legs look leaner and longer.

high heels also make your feet look smaller.... flats can't do any of that

I think flats are more cute, not sexy
Reply:Flats can be attractive but high heels will always be sexier. I love the look of high heels. I know they're hard to wear (really hard, wore them for Hallowwen last year ... see my outfit in my little picture?) but they sure do look great!
Reply:um, no. high heels are sexy. they just are. who cares if you are tall?
Reply:Sorry...but flats will never be sexy...
Reply:No they are not sexy at all. Personally, I think tall women wearing flats look frumpy. You need higher heels to stay in proportion with your height.

I am going into a private school for the first time i need shoe ideas, HELP!?
Julie,

I completely understand all about needing shoes for a private shchool. I went to private school all my life so I feel your pain. Now I love shoes so you have come to the right person. I basically have a pair of shoes for every outfit that I have. Now when it comes to going to a private school that doesn't allow flip flops, heels over 3in and they have to be closed toe and closed heel, I would suggest looking @ Payless and find a nice pair of flat black or brown dress shoes that have a close heel and a closed toe or you may be able to find a pair @Wal-Mart or Famous Footwear. Which kind of shoe??

Which kind of shoe, running shoe has the biggest heel on it whick will make you taller? I know that nike shox have a 1.5 inch heel on them. I am only 5 foot 1 and am always in heels and still feel very short...like not even average when im wearing heels! So please help me on this and what should I do? My feet are sore from always wearing heels! I hat my height.

Which kind of shoe??
I think the nike shox are the highest heel I've seen- especially in running shoes. You don't want to have anything higher than that because you'll be forced to shift your weight from your heel to the balls of your feet. It's good for cross training, but not for all the time.

Have you tried Dr. Scholl's inserts for your regular heels? They make them for dress shoes, and that might help save your feet.
Reply:Try wearing platform shoes. The footbed is relatively flat, but the platfom elevates you. So you look taller, but your feet are more comfortable. Skecher's makes a lot of high-heeled athletic style shoes. Of course, if you are actually running or exercising you shouldn't wear anything "high," but I think you just want to feel more comfortable, period.

Anyway to avoid getting feet rough after wearing high heels?

I don't really know how to describe it, but I've juts switched fromr tennis shoes to high heels for a little while and my feet are getting rough on the bottom, is there anyway to prevent that? maybe some feet lotion? And also, is there anything I can put in the high heels to make it less painful?

Thank you!

Anyway to avoid getting feet rough after wearing high heels?
I wear my work sneakers any where from 10 to 13 hours a day on a regular basis , I stand, walk , lean , and do rigorous manual labor in my shoes .

I definitely enjoy wearing heels as well , any where from a kitten heel to a 5 inch heel or platform. What I do when I get ready for a night out I'll get a warm shower and clean my feet up really good , obviously lol . While in the shower I use my pumice stone to loosen dead dry skin off my heels . I usually go in a sawing motion then in gentle circles .

After I get out of the shower if I feel the need to use a callous shaver , now would be the time because your skin is softer and the hardened parts of your heels are moist and come off a lot easier ,than when dry.

On to the next step ! I like to use a body butter or a thicker lotion that contains Shea butter. My favorite is from the Tree Hut line. I get the scent Brazilian Nut , it comes in about three other scents its under 3.00 at Walmart next to the perfume and bubble bath section .

I give my feet a nice two or three minute massage from tendon to toe tops , it gets a nice circulation of blood flow going on and it just feels great ! ; ]

I do recommend you doing your lotions or creams early enough to let it fully absorb and dry into your skin before putting on shoes . If you do the lotions and throw on your shoes and go out if could spell trouble for you in a little depending on how much your feet sweat. You could be sweaty and slide around in your shoes and throw off your strut or make you wobble too much and possibly teeter over and in worse case scenario sprain your ankle and burst your ego ...

So let your lotions dry or make sure you pat/ dry your feet really well before doing the shoes !!

After I come home I like to soak my feet in a WARM bath not hot . Your feet are tender and need warmth but not hot water , use a little foot soak maybe some peppermint to make them feel better.

You should also invest in Dr.Schoolls shoe inserts for heels. I personally have burning in the balls of my feet when wearing heels , but you can get an array of different inserts made just for heels and dress shoes.
Reply:you can buy a lotion from avon *works great if you use it everyday my feet elbows knees and hands have never been softer!* its called planet spa. its the best thing ever! i love it! if you use it everyday after you take a shower your feet will feel so soft. its mainly for your feet and hands but i use it on my knees and elbows. and you can use dr.scholls they have foot pads for heels.

Shoe sole and heel is one piece of rubber. Heel side is worn down. How fix cheap?

Next time get taps put on the bottom of your shoes it will prolong the life of them when they run down get more taps.

Shoe sole and heel is one piece of rubber. Heel side is worn down. How fix cheap?
Your question is wrong category. This is for car maint %26amp; repair, not shoes. However a shoe shop would cut out and glue in a piece and grind off smooth. You could do the same. Try a product called "shoe goo" works great.

Get "Shoe Goo" at someplace like Walmart or Kmart. Use tape to create a dam on the heel, then squeeze on the goo to replace the worn away rubber. Set the shoe so the goo will be level, and let it set up completely.

You can yank out the rubber part of the heel and replace it with a new one. I'm assume these are high heels of some sort.

Finding the replacement is the hard part.

How to prevent socks drawn to heels with slip-on (shoestringless shoes)?

I've got my first ever pair of slip-ons, i.e., shoes without shoelaces. However, once started walking, the socks will get drawn to the heels and it feels uncomfortable. How to prevent this from happening?

How to prevent socks drawn to heels with slip-on (shoestringless shoes)?
Don't wear socks! But if it is absolutely nessicary to wear socks, wear footies (The kind you wear at shoe stores to try on shoes)
Reply:Wear very thin ankle socks. Thats what I do when my thick socks dont fit in my shoes.

Need help finding a specific running shoe?

Please read all before answering.

I'm looking for the Brand and where i can find it. I saw this one type of running shoe that was heel less... it just had a small sole section on the toe (front) that hit the ground as you run. Sort of like a sprinting shoe. so that when your running, your only running on the toe part of your foot and not using the heel.

Need help finding a specific running shoe?
lightweight running shoes
Reply:lightweights, asics got a shoe liek that forgot the name
Reply:There are many shoes like that if I understand you correctly. Go to your local running store and they should be able to help you.

Shoes that make your heels go up are not very beneficial. They shorten your achilles tendon making you more suseptible to injury. So using normal tennis shoes and flats are more healthy for you. They also have more support than the sprinting shoes and heels.

Sometimes i wear heels and regular shoes?

like they are heels so i am thinking since i am asking all these questions am i a girl at heart and could i be transexual

Sometimes i wear heels and regular shoes?
Maybe that's just your style! I wouldn't worry about it. I mean if a girl wears cargos and her hat backwards and a t-shirt, people do go, "Oh...she's lesbian." I don't think just because of the way you do things like wear heeled shoes or "stand girly like" qualifies you to be gay. I wouldn't worry about it.

Hope this helped! :)
Reply:tis not about clothes, its about identity. Who do you feel you are right now? who do you feel you'd rather be? a girl or a boy? What is more meaningful to you? Is being a girl for the rest of your life important to you? Is being treated and respected by your girl identity important to you? these are the kinda questions you need to ask, but for some people dressing up is a way of expressing the girl inside when they have nothing else... it can also be a way of experimenting with how you feel.

My high heels are a tad bit too big for me. Is there a product that will keep my foot snug while I walk?

My foot size is somewhere between a size 5.5 and 6. The room between the back of the shoe and my heel is not a considerable amount, but I would like to close the gap so that I can wear them more comfortably and not worry about them falling off while I walk.

My high heels are a tad bit too big for me. Is there a product that will keep my foot snug while I walk?
I don't know what kind of back you have, but this line makes something for every shoe problem. I shop at Nordstrom and found them there: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2872531?refs... They are called Foot Petals. The ones in this pictures are actually the ones (and the same shoes!) that my sister wore to my wedding and it helped her a lot.
Reply:they make heel pads that will keep your feet from slipping. I have never been able to get them to work well for me. My fav pair of black pumps are a smidge too big for mee and the slip. Other than the heel pads or the grips for the ball of your foot, I don't know of anything else that actually works
Reply:Absolutely. Get heel grippers. You can find them at your local wal*mart, fred meyer... Walgreens, not sure where you live haha. But any local store/pharmacy. It basically adds cushion/fills up any extra room for shoes that may be a tad too big. Also, if that is not enough. There are also cushions that you may attach to the part on the shoe where the ball of your foot sits, it will help dimish the extra room, plus itll be more comfortable. I use the brand Dr.Scholls, but I'm sure any will work! Good luck!
Reply:you can always go back to the shoe store and exchange the shoe for a new pair which you want is a six.Right
Reply:There are probably lots of products, but by far, the cheapest way to do this is to just stuff some toilet paper into the front of the heels. If the paper tears, just put some more into the shoe. Works every time!
