Are stilettos a brand of shoe or just a type of heel?

I was wondering because I've heard alot of people talk about the heel but i wanted to know if there was a brand of shoe named Stilettos.

It's a type of heel. Stiletto is the Italian word for dagger or carving-knife, and that's what the heel supposedly resembles because it tapers to a thin point.
