Has anyone gone to prom with 4 inch heels?

unfortunately, when i went shoe shopping, the only heels that i was able to find are these GORGEOUS open 4 inch silver heels...i'm usually okay w/ wearing heels (like i run up and down stairs in them) but mostly i wear the 2 inch ones

i'm a little nervous about wearing these to prom. can someone share their experience, negative or encouraging? thanks!

is there any way to make them hurt less? thanks

Has anyone gone to prom with 4 inch heels?
I've never worn 4 inch heels, but you can use new Dr. Scholl's for Women. I saw a comercial for them today and they're for womens heels. Here's a link so you can look at them:

You can also try wearing them around the house alot before prom so you can get used to them.

Have fun!
Reply:Well, it's totally up to you. Some people are total klutzes in heels while others wear them as natural as they were flipflops :)

Try walking around the house with them for a few hours just doing what you need to do. If they're unbearable after an hour or so, you may want to break them in further or just get other shoes.

Sure they could be really hot shoes, but you don't want to look back on your prom night an wince recalling the pain that came with each step...or worse, you might sprain your ankle or something and not be able to dance at all.

Bottom line, try them out at home to get a feel for them, then decide.

Have fun at prom!
Reply:Go for it baby! Other girls will die of envy and the boys' eyes will pop out
Reply:I wouldn't do it, you're going to be on your feet alot. Plus those shoes looks alot like something a stripper would wear, not a good look for the prom. There isn't any way to make them hurt less, you're forcing your foot into an unnatural position, it's going to hurt.

Just an FYI - it is totally tacky to run around in bare feet while wearing a gown. You're at a black tie event not at the beach.
Reply:GOD!Thats amazing.Go for it baby n don't lose it.If I were in your place i wouldn't have spent a moment in buying them.Just have confidence in yourself n you are gonna rock the prom with such wonderful heels.you are definitely going to be the PROM QUEEN.
Reply:Why be scared, oh I get it the guy you're going to the prom with. Let me say something it's perfectly alright and if you don't think yuo should war them and if not wear the 2 in. heels you wear or, buy new ones.
Reply:oh god, don't do it! You won't be able to dance or anything. Lots of girls wore flipflops to our prom. I wore 3inch wedges to my wedding. Got the height without the heel
Reply:Dr. Scholl's party feet invisible gel cushions. Make sure you buy some before you buy the shoes - you want the shoes to fit after you've put the pads in.

Also keep in mind that after about the first hour (because it's basically dancing all night long) you'll end up taking off your shoes and as many layers as possible like every other girl. The shoes are for pictures and to let you think your outfit is perfect! lol Just a decoration that comes off when you really want to have fun.

I had a friend who went to prom in flip-flops? We all laughed a little at her for it at first, but guess who we were all jealous of at the end? lol That's right. I wore 3 inch heels and thought I was going to die. (And I wear heels all the time).
Reply:I never wore 4 inch heels at any event. I prefer at most 3 inch heels. I am 5'10".
Reply:I have gone running in heels around 5-6 inches. Dancing and walking as well. For a more comfortable trip in them get Dr. Scholl's invisible gel cushions. They should help.

Your feet will be killing you at the end of the night, but just think you'll be looking gorgeous!
Reply:I have but if you are to be standing up for long it hurts loads the next day!
Reply:I would not suggest a 4 inch heels to prom, because there will be a lot of dancing unless you plan to sit down most of the time. After a little while your feet will hurt, you'll probably would have to take them off.

What you might do, if you're at home for a long period of time. Wear them to see if they are confortable enough for you to go to prom with them.

Good luck
