I am a nurse and at the end of the day my feet hurt badly, especially my heels. what shoes do you recommend?

You should really try MBTs. They're pricey but are so comfortable it's like walking on air. The secret of these shoes is the heel which is curved to help reposition the body.

defiantly crocs! i know a nurse who wears those and she loves em!
Reply:At the pharmacy (drugstore) there are shoes which are good for comfort and make your feet feel better. Otherwise, you should stay away from high-heels, stilettos, etc. Wear thongs or comfy sandals with a soft sole; wear soft or fluffy slippers around the home. Good luck! Oh and you can get cream for your heels at the pharmacy (drugstore) too.
Reply:I'm on my feet all day also. I went to a local shoe store, I told them the problem I had and they talked me into getting a pair of custom orthotics for my boots. They took a mold of my feet then had them ordered. They were kind of expensive, but I haven't regretted getting them!
Reply:Try Crocs. I always see medical people wear them. (and they look good with the outfit, too) Just buy a pair (or more!!) of the color(s) of your scrubs.

these are what I normally see most nurses wear...

http://shop.crocs.com/pc-16-4-cayman.asp... They will start to fit to your foot the more that you wear them. And if your feet still hurt (even though they shouldn't after these...) you can always buy a pair of insoles. There are ones for arch support or gel ones or ones just for comfort.

I hope that this could help you!! Good luck!
Reply:try some really good cushing socks with the gell inserts.
Reply:Dr. Martins
Reply:try DR. SCHOLL's shoes.
Reply:Go to a nursing store (they have them everywhere) and get shoes specially made for that situation..

They make cute ones too..because I wore a pair to highschool.. (I'm not a nurse..they were just too comfortable to pass up though! haha)
Reply:I say that after work you go and massage your feet and every week (sunday I should say, the relaxed day of the week) go and soak your feet (dont have one? go buy one! you deserve it!) and massage it, use lotion and also wear comfy crocs or nursing shoes. Also schedule a litte down time and don't do it yourself, go to a salon and have people give you a nice little pedicure and if they hurt really really bad after work, stay off them for a while.

And don't forget!.... Get squishy soft and comfy house slippers!
Reply:I LOVE Dansko shoes! I am on my feet all day, too, and Dansko pretty much cured my "foot aches"...within 2 weeks of wearing Dansko, my feet no longer hurt after standing on concrete for 12 hours.
Reply:I bought a pair of Nikes:

Even after wearing flip flops half the day- I change into these and I automatically feel better!!!! no joke-! If you keep having probs you can also go to a foot specialist- I have, they help tons if you do everything right!

I read the other answers- crocs?! well they feel good, but if support is what you need, I say no!
