Is there any rule that relates the length of a mini skirt with the heigh if the heels?

My friend says there is a rule that says:





"The length of the skirt (measured from knee up) should be 2 times height of the heel when the shoes are strappy, and 1.8 times when it's closed shoes"





For example for a 4 inch strappy heels, the skirt lower edge should be at 8 inches above the knee...

Is there any rule that relates the length of a mini skirt with the heigh if the heels?
I have never heard of such a rule, but it does make a lot of sense. When you wear high heels, it elongates the leg, and makes the skirt look shorter, just as a girl with very long legs will look like she is wearing a shorter skirt than a short girl wearing the very same skirt. Rather than trying to figure out an exact "rule", try your skirt on with flat shoes, and then try it on with high heels, and see if there is a great difference in the appearance. I think regardless of the shoes, if your skirt is too short and shows too much it's going to come off trashy.
Reply:I don't know about any particular rule as to the inches, but, as your first two answers clearly indicate, there is an unstated rule (or, often unstated anyway) that the length of your skirt and heels, and general appearance, does give very strong indication of your personal character, or lack thereof. Reply:if the higher ur heels are, the shorter ur skirt is, ur just gonna look like a skank. i usually try to stick with heels if the skirt is at my knees or below them or sometimes a bit above them, but if u wear a short skirt with high heels its probly gonna look trashy...the one time i wore high heels with a short dress people called me a ho and a hooker lol so ya

Reply:No matter how short the skirt, for the love and respect for other women, please please wear shorts under it that have more then a 4 inch crotch in them!! And in my personal opinion, if you are gonna wear high heels. your skirt should be at least 5 inches past your fingertips when your arms are straight down, otherwise as one person said, you will look like a street walker. :)

P.S. Who wears 4 inch heels?! How lame is that! I think ALL heels should be 6-8 inches tall. That's my rule.
